Long John Streamlined Dragster

I have had this one partially built for about a year and a half so it was time to finish it. This kit is very very simplistic as far as parts go but overall it came out alright. All the "polished or chrome" parts were cast in dull silver plastic so I painted them with Model Masters Metalizer Cast Aluminum then polished them with a q-tip to give the parts a semi shiny finish. The best part about this kit were the white wall tires. They are resin and are very nice quality. The body was sprayed about a year ago with Testors One Coat metalflake red over a black base and I cleared it this past weekend. The driver was sprayed flat black then drybrushed with acrylic paints. Im pretty happy with how it came out for such a basic kit.

I never really paid too much attention to the stremline type of cars....but..... Hows that motor supposed to 'Breath' ? I see no intake of sorts ! Would it be a safe 'guess' that it would use the front blower type ! (?), found on the "Orange crate" or on "Rick Dobbertins J-2000" ? Just a question ! Nice build tho !!!!! ~ DM ~

Im not sure what the Galaxy reissue is..all I know is this one came in a long shallow box from Modelroundup. As far as the engine....I have no clue on how its supposed to breath...All the engine consists of are 2 hemi heads glued to recesses in the body haha...Guess they didnt really need a detailed engine for this kit since it isnt visible anyhow.

Great job Jay ! I remember having an original back in the day so I bought a Galaxie version a while back ... I remember the rear slicks were a SOB to fit on the Galaxie version ...
