Okay, this is what I am looking for. I need something in the shape of an oxygen tank. Reason is I have to redo the exhaust from Deal's Wheels VW Van. It needs that basic shape. If there is a kit that has something that big and roundish, I'd go and find it. I am working on the horn shaped exhaust tip using sheet plastic curved. It won't be easy.
I fixed the broken roofline, the broken windows (I used clear plastic disks from CD packs)and the missing rear inside rim. I made one from parts sprue and sheet plastic and it came out pretty darn good!
My next "fix" is making the side mirrors and the antenna with the coily end on it. Totally do-able. I have to make the propellers for the surfboards but that is easy I think. Any help (advice, parts, etc.) that you can lend would be greatly appreciated.
take care,

This Van kit was just reissued, and I'm building one right now. Try finding a piece of round plastic stock, and chuck it in your drill, use a good file, and turn down both ends!! I'm sure you've got something laying around the house, or maybe a good hobby shop?

Thanks. I know about the re-issue. I have one. I just don't want to open a kit to strip it and then it is missing parts. The one I am rebuilding is an original, box and all. I'll try the turning stock trick.
Take care,

What about some of the scuba tanks from the various surf rod kits, like the Garbage Truck?
The orange blossom special has a long fuel cell that may work. I may have one of those im my parts box.

Has anyone ever found a parts Deal's Wheels VW van? Still looking for the exhaust for my original. Actually, one half of it.
I tried using a cylinder made from tube stock but can't get that sweet flow going on the body of the exhaust. I tried carving one out from a fat plastic hanger. No good. I tried using a cigarette tube. Too big and no curvature. I am going nuts! But that is normal for people on this board, right?
Cash, coin or trade!! I can pay via PayPal today if needed!!
Thanks,

Roy,
I can't believe you still do not have this exhaust... I bought a repop in the fall, started it, but I don't see myself finishing it anytime soon. If ya want the exhaust out of it my friend, just say the word and it's yours! You've been good to me, and that's a two way street! Just say yes, And it will be in the mail!

Bill,
I really appreciate the offer and I may take you up on it at a later date, but right now, I really think you should keep your Van as a whole and build it!! have you any progress pictures? I will send some in if anyone is interested in my resurrection from an evilBay glue bomb.
Thanks and take care,

P.S. Did you get the 56 Ford door panels yet?

Thanks, Jimmy!! PM Sent!
Bill, what does "didn't survive mail sorter" mean? They got smashed? They are flat by nature. Hehehe! Or did one get cracked? If so, that should be an easy fix. Tell me how it turns out.
Thanks guys!!!

I wonder if you could make baseball bats the same way. Thanks! RSS P.S. Any progress shots of your Van?
