I knew it had the same wheels, but could not find anyone with a pair. I have a very similar set and the correct spinners so it will look real close. I wish I had an original, but got tired of waiting and if it was not for friends, I would not be doing this. ;D I would like to see yours when it's going!

and here is how the spinners look. I had to shave the front rims down by putting them on the dremel and had to shave out the inside of the front tires and the whitewall inserts. the rims are really close, but needed some modifying.

That's looking really good! Love the interior colors.. Keep up the good work! I am glad you like it, thanks! I had to reload the interior photo...fotki has a glitch once in awhile. I will try to get the seats painted tonight and see if I can't get the interior finished and installed. Also I need to mask the running boards and get some black on that "rubber"

... Also I need to mask the running boards and get some black on that "rubber" Don't do it; the commercials (like pickups) had stamped metal running boards, with no rubber!

I can't see it that good really. I don't know who scanned this lid....wish I had a MUCH better scan.

I also went down to the dungeon and looked at my Blue Beetle box. The black-and-white photos on the side panel do not show black running boards--they're the same grey tone (presumably blue in real life) as the body.

That loks GREAT!!
Is there a roof off shot of the interior?
If I may add my 2 cents worth, paint the carbs brass, this way they will stand out between the manifold and the air cleaners....but hey thats just what I think.....

I have thought about painting them, but since I am going for the detail of the box art....I can't tell from the image I have if they are. hmmmm There will be lot's of photos when it's done, I will take a roof shot for ya.

there have been a few inquiries about the scuba gear as to make it correct I would need that too. I was lucky to have a friend that wanted to see this built so he sent me the gear and I would mention his name but I don't know if he wants me to. I will mention his name when this is finished if he is ok with that.

Hi, guys!
I just joined so I could chime in on this thread. The wheels and tires from the Monogram Orange Hauler will work. The seats can be filched from the Little T, which was semi-reissued a few years ago and I believe is about to come out again in its' original form (from Round 2? 'Not sure.) Also, if memory serves, the scuba and surfing gear (or most of it) was also included in The Garbage Truck. If I were doing a clone, I think I'd use the engine from that beautiful '59 Caddy that came out a few years ago. I THINK it was by Monogram. I do remember that the body was molded in pink and the chassis et cetera in a kind of gun metal.
