OK, Klowns!
This Saturday, July 25, is the 4th Annual Model Kemp in Salina, Kansas. Here's some new info on the judging guidelines and all for you gamooks that are going to be there! Also, check out the special webpage on the KC Slammers website for the latest info!
http//www.kcslammers.com
Entries are to be ONLY KUSTOMS OR TRUE, TRADITIONAL RODS in 1/24 scale or larger although any scale or model may be placed on display only at no cost.
Please note that this year, specific class awards will not be given specifically for each of the 9 building classes. They serve as building framework guidelines only for the modelers. Any model entered MUST be able to fit into one or a combination of the building categories. The Hall-of-Fame Customizer judges will choose THEIR selection based purely on what THEY like so it is possible, for example, that NO bubbletop (or possibly another category) may be chosen at all. This is a change that Elden and I talked about last year and he wanted this in effect for the 2009 Contest.
There WILL however be specific awards presented to the winning model for Best Interior, Best Motor, Best Paint, Best Diorama, Best Junior Kustom Kemp, The Elden Titus Creative Concept Design Award, and the 777 Crown Champion Best of Show (along with $500 Cash!).
If you come, please go to the Best Western Motel across from Thomas Park to pay your fees and pre-register. Bring your paid receipt over to the park at Ground Zero and the KC Slammers will get you fully registered in the Model Kemp Contest. Registration starts at 9 AM on Saturday and ends PROMPTLY at 12 Noon. Awards are at 4:30 PM that day.
I am hoping to wrangle the following judges for the model contest... George Barris, Darryl Starbird, Fritz Schenck, Mark Moriarity, Gene Winfield, Jeff Miller, Steve Stanford, M.K. John, Jerry Titus, and Dave Stuckey. How's THAT fer a quality list, Mateys? Arrrrrrrrr!
Hope to see y'all there! Bring your air conditioners!
