Merry Christmas guys! I HOPE to get "something" plastic this year, (it has yet to happen since I've came back to the hobby) SO, I do make up for it on my own throughout the year.... MERRY CHRISTMAS! ...in the FALLING snow, with an added "bonus"..... CHRISTMAS LIGHTS to go with it...... in the dark, and the "dots" in the picture? ARE REAL SNOW FLAKES! Not often you get to do something like this but it was staged and timed JUST right! Thought, I'd take full ADVANTAGE of this opportunity.... Model "Santa's Hemi----------SLEIGH? ?" COMPLETED 11-26-2014 A "Show Rod" I NEVER get plastic for Christmas or my birthday ,at least since 1978 LOL That being said , I did buy myself a restorable "grail" kit off Ebay recently so I'll consider it a gift to myself . Merry Christmas guys ! Yeah, I sort of did that SAME thing too, I did some trading and got 2 of my Holy Grails as well, a MPC '76 Dodge Tradesman Van..... I needed it to go with my "family builds" and well. Those kits aren't easy to find! And in that same deal wound up getting a '71 Dodge Demon in resin WITH the donor kit ('71 Plymouth Duster 340) to build it, that is another family build, my Grandfather owned that car, and my father borrowed it and wrecked it was I was a little kid. -So I don't think I did to, too bad..... And for me, its today isn't over yet..........

-I myself this year (2016) have molded a bout 100 molds from Alumilite 3 silicone, and have YET to see a silicon mold warp, bend, lay as seen in the pics posted! Those same molds have pour'd something to the tune of 500 pieces EACH, and have yet to have a flaw made by the mold itself!
I have to say in the 20 plus years I been molding, I must say from the different types I've used Alumilite is the best to date that I have found!

AWESOME work! Question now is, do you have a "Bike" to put in the back!?
I am planning a few "Show Rods" too. One is already done, and will be the end of the month to post it for reason of what it is! BUT A few to come that are similarly related, as you'll see!
GREAT imaginative work man! NICELY Executed!!!

So the engine came from an AMT "Parts Pack" that had the 392 Hemi in all chrome, and the headers came elsewhere..... I HAVE that engine! BUT those headers look GREAT!!!!! Thats got to be the best I've seen for headers for a 'Rod.... Free-flowing" looks as well to go with the 'Rod you put them in..... Looks GREAT, and the chop top goes WELL with it too! -I'd just love to see some older Dodge bodies & grilles to make things like this "All Mopar"..... That is right. That is the engine and the headers from the double T kit. Thanks for the compliment I really like this build as well. -I gotta ask tho. what 'Rod is that in your avatar?

So I was asked to do a Tutorial on how-to color the raised lettering on tires.... WITHOUT "Future" floor shine! As you all know some tires might need some trimming down, to rid the lettering and over-all tire of flash.... and even "seams"! I do this prior to anything else.... Then moving right along, I go to doing my normal thing with a little alcohol to "clean" the surface, allow the tires to air-dry. Then I get out my trusty Gel Pen in white! I then slowly do each lettering, so that the letter itself, shows as it should on the tire.... NOW theres a couple tricks here. you make a mistake? WIPE IT OFF, it takes a bit for the Gel ink to dry.... (I'm not even sure its true "ink" but coming from a "Pen" Thats what I'm gonna refer it to be!) So literally, you can screw up over and over and if you have Q-Tips, and a little water this stuff will come off over & over! Another trick? touch the Pen to the tire lettering very lightly, and you'll get a "worn" look, touch with a normal writing pressure, and you'll get a "new" tire look..... Honestly? The Gel covers over the black NICELY!!! See: NOW you see the Pen itself.... I will say, take your time and go slow, its a VERY touchy thing to attempt! But with a little practice you get good QUICK! The tire you see here? Is/was only my 2nd tire EVER done this way! Once done? Let each tire sit for at least 24 hours.... It takes a bit to dry, and even longer to "cure". you can "seal" it onto the tire with any Acrylic clear coat you desire, as long as its a WATER-BASED clear coat, solvent clear coats won't cure on the vinyl tire! Redline tires, I bet be GREAT the same way IF you have a way to spin the tire, and hold the Pen at the same time! OR use something to guide the pen with as you make your way around its circumference! Shopping List: I get them from Michael's Craft Stores for $1.99. Its called a "Gelly Roll" and works GREAT for the price! Hope this is Helpful!

This is a KICK ASS build too! My only question (As I'm unsure) is the engine? I THOUGHT The Boot Hill had a 426 Hemi im it? The one in the kit (I'm unsure of) but the 1/8th sized one looks more like a Early Hemi then a 426 Hemi!
Ray Farhner's Boothill Express was made in '67 so having a 426 Hemi is the correct answer but, whats the Revell 1/25th kit have in it?
Even so, in 1/8th scale, that engine you done up is damn impressive!!!! Did you buy the motor as a kit and build it to suit, or something you scratched?

SWEET!!! Again I see a Hemi powering a street rod!!!! LOVE IT! Yeah I thought how do I make it look mean with the radical chop top. Easy add a Hemi blown of course. Ya done well! And great thinkin' too! NOW, a question, the headers, where'd you find those? They're RIGHT for a Hemi, and they look good too, not mention in real life would be so free-flowing that engine could seriously BREATHE and thats what a Hemi is known for..... -Being able to breathe easy..... Cross-Flowing heads make A LOT of difference, but I just LOVE the looks of those exhaust headers you used, I wouldn't mind thinkin up a way to use a set of them myself.....
