Great finds Marty. Do you collect slot cars as well? Russell Why, as a matter of fact, I do! I got my first HO set in 1963 for Christmas and I haven't quit yet. HO is my main focus but I also race/collect/build 1/32 and 1/24 slot cars. I am fighting getting into 1/43 but they are coming out with some kool stuph! Marty

Great bunch of stuff guys!!! Chuck, I'm jealous man, I really want one of those woody kits myself..... Anyway, today I scored another one of these 1978 issue MPC 1928 model A roadster pickups. The kit itself isn't that great of a kit, and has released many times over the years, but this is the only time it was issued with these awesome vintage Halibrand wheels with great detail like crisp raised lips around the slots. These wheels were never in any other kit, some close looking rears, but not with the raised lips. The rears are very deep, with matching narrow fronts, the will make great hotrod wheels!!!

Well John.. I've always thought that was a cool kit!!... I've landed a few goodies since me last post.. I acquired an early Deals "Herbie" Bug builder (nice) along with a couple "egg planes" which I think are cool..did a nice trade for a "GroovyGrader" which filled a huge hole in my collection (Thanks Charlie) Also nailed down a sealed "Rum Blur" kit .. I've been in to a R/C airplane kits to take to Texas this summer.. I picked up 3 electric 40+" wing span airplane kits.. A Piper J3 Cub - YAK54- and a SkyFly2 .... gotta keep those grandsons busy with snap kits and rc planes.. I sent them a flight sim. for Christmas so they should be ready to fly ! ;D

NNL West today. I spent too much (of course) but I made some great Tom Daniel and Monogram scores. And I mean GREAT SCORES!! LOL! The deal of the day (for me) was the first kit I bought at the first vendor I happened to stop at right after I walked in the door (and I din't go in with the vendor set-up - just the regular public opening). I spied a Son of Ford box, opened it and did a really quick check before asking if the price on the box was right. The guy said yes, so I nabbed it. I've taken a closer look since I got home. It's 100% complete, mostly built, but totally UNPAINTED and not at all a gluebomb. All of the unique SOF parts are there and salvagable, and the decal sheet is there in mint condition - none of the decals were applied. Als in the box are the instructions, two b/w pocket catalogs, two collector cards (Baja Bandito and Paddy Wagon), and the box itself is in really good shape! What did I shell out for this?? ONE DOLLAR!! =:^O A freakin' DOLLAR! I can't believe it was still there when I got there. More deals include a batch of four kits for a REALLY reasonable price - Elvira '58 T-bird, a '70s issue Baja Beast, a complete, unbuilt (not even the engine halves are glued, lol) TD California Street 'Vette, including the 3x5 photograph of TD with his car, all in excellent condition, AND a SEALED '73 version(yellow) Rat Vega! The others I picked up are a mint unbuilt original issue Troublemaker, with the correct rear tires and smoked glass; an unbuilt '88 issue Plum Crazy FC (the Outcast); and a built but trashed Little T - in a pretty good original box and with the instructions - which has all of the cool parts specific to the original version intact and can thus be used with the recent issue of the T to make a few retro builds. I am VERY happy with this batch! Lots of stuff I really wanted. Brian

Just won a Tom Daniels "Flap Jack" ! Aren't those FlapJack's cool ?.. AJ fixed me up a while back with one still in the factory wrap (Thanks A.J.)... I've thought about throwing some wild kandy HOK paint at it but I just haven't had the vision come to me yet .. Ha!

I also found a near mint FlapJack a few months ago ... I still have my ´73 Monogram catalog ... since then I dreamt of having one of these ... but now its sitting there ... still unbuilt
Still cause I´m not sure what can be done painting .... its cause the whole thing is made of a flexible plastic ... many normal colors just chip off these thermoplastics ... filling gaps and sanding also seems difficult or even impossible .... how to glue ?
now I think of colors for the flexible lexan bodies for RC-cars ? or would be a BareMetalFoil covering the solution ? foiling instead of painting ....

I scored with this kit at a local Model Show and Swap. I saw it for $60 and thought i'll never pay that much, walked around the seller tables, decided i may never see it again for sale and hurried on back and scooped it.

Another find at an antique Store today. Palmer 1960 Karmann Ghia. Still has a few assorted parts in the box, no instructions or date. It does talk about new 1960 cars to see and build. Russell

I was set up at the Mid-West slot car show in Highland, IN this weekend. I did all right!! Sold some stuff and bought some stuff........ I went with the intention of buying some bodies. They were selling them 3/$10. So I bought a few ;D I bought a collection of 1/24 slot cars, that's where the chassis and the controller came from. I kept another car from the collection, it is still packed in a box. I'll post a pic later. The art work and the t-shirt I traded for some Mexican issue only HO slot car bodies. The two HO cars on the art work I bought because the wings are in tact, hard to find that way. The HO chassis on the shirt are Aurora Thunder-Jet Hot Rod chassis NOS. I shoulda bought more, they were $10 each. I was thrilled to get the Toon's mags!! Racing 'Toons; Ski 'Toons; Surf 'Toons; Drag CarToons!!! A couple dealers were selling model kits, me included. I got a 52 Chevy Wagon and a 74 Cuda promo. $10 each ;D Oh yeah, and Curl's Gurl!! ;D ;D ;D ;D WOO-HOO!! Unbuilt, complete!! Now I am NOT going to sell this!!! I am curious, what would you pay for it? Marty

Or iffin anyone else has something like it....PM me !! Cash or trade or ?? Is that close to 1/24~1/25 ?? ~ Dean Dpaintbizer ~
