Thank you very much for the kind words! And it continues... Until now, I had nothing suitable for front lighting... In the beginning, I had provided the lamps of this here: ... exactly these would be perfect... ... I need six of them and complete, but unfortunately, I did not have any in stock... So, I scoured all the kits I have, for any front lights, which would come into question, but I have not had enough of the same, or of the matching parts... Then, much time has passed again... ... sometime, I strolled around in a store and I stumbled across this: Any kind of nails, but with a great head shape... So I cut off the stems... ... I tried to cut them off as close as possible, now, at first a good idea, but how do I get the rest out? I tried to grind them with the dremel, but gave up very quickly, much too time consuming and too dangerous!

But I have not quite given up... Next, I tried to pull the stems out of the head, with a little violence, this has of course, worked... I then stamped with a Punch tool some matching glasses, white are from Makrolon, blue are made of PET... Here the two parts: Finally I have all lamps glued with two component adhesive to their new Mounts: Hope, you like it.

If I wazzzzzzzzzzz you , I'd make darn sure I had witnesses on the design of this build . George Barris is Famous for "Ripping Off other peoples work and telling everyone HE designed it an HE Built it . Look, I used to work down the street from Barris back in the 1970's until I moved to Houston. I know what I'm talking about .

Sorry but I have to throw in with Ed on this one. I don't see his comments as political or abusive, just truthfull. I've had my share of run in's with the Barris clan. The title of this thread is perfect, because if we were talking about the original Monkeemobile IT'S not a Barris car either.

Isn't this based on a Ed Newton sketch?

Absolutely amazing Bobby - and I learned a few things from this build too! You're a master - I love the idea of using those pushpins for lights, and that chrome powder stuff is interesting too. Does it stand up to being handled better than Alclad?
Great job bud! Thanks for reposting the pics! I'm really thankful that you're restoring these old threads!

BTW - if this guitar car doesn't run well, does it need a TUNE UP?
