This was one of my entrys for the 2010 Fools with no Rules Contest: coffincorner.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=2007&thread=13071I had a little time to work on this project. Small steps. The engine is so far almost done, need some small fixing, the toothed belt is from an old printer. A new frame for the windshield, tinkered from u profiles and two yellow mirrors. (No idea of what kit). And a few things painted on the interior, nothing is fixed now... The pictures:

This is one great build. You should have designed the Monkee mobile Bobby.

Fantastic job Bobby, that looks like it could have been the real deal ! I was wondering for a looong time about the barrel scoop, and then it hit me - Barrel full of Monkees ! - That was a really clever idea !

That's a freakin' cool design. I agree with John you should have designed the original.

Thank you very much for the kind words! I wanted again to work on this project. I found a few parts, he, he. This is the new rear axle, well, until now no one was under it... ;D ... It still needs a few adjustments... The engine is finished and installed. The cooler is installed, or a suggestion of a cooler by the aluminum mesh, cut out from a kitchen sieve... I have also, a little changed the steering wheel. The floor is new in black. The woodwork is made of real wood, very thin about 0.25 mm. No idea what this is for a type of wood, but it comes from an inner lining of a cigar tin box... The finished windshield. And the approximate position Well, there is still much to do, hope, you like it so far...

I was wondering for a looong time about the barrel scoop, and then it hit me - Barrel full of Monkees ! - That was a really clever idea ! The barrel is distracting but the overall car is incredible. Fantastic design and build. Looking forward to more pics.

I'm enamored by this build too, and Bobbys Wine Wagon as well! Incredible scratch builds.
Ed Newton actually worked up this design as far as the guitar shaped body....Bobby did it justice though....
For what it's worth, I'd find some silly monkey head for the intake scoop! LOL. I don't care for the barrel either...

Glad to see you brought this one out again Bobby!
Another fine build in the works.
I understand the significance of the barrel, as in barrel of monkees, but it doesn't quite flow.
Other than that it is a very inventive build. I like your use of non-model related items.

I like the idea of including a barrel in the build... But, I'll add my dislike of the barrel as a scoop... Maybe something on the order of a guitar pick like thing for a scoop? And maybe move the barrel to the back for a fuel tank?

Thank you very much for the kind words, the suggestions and proposals. But, the barrel stays where it is... Perhaps one understands my reasons by the next step: This is carved from a toy part. Then split in two parts. Glued to the barrel and painted.

This is very interesting. Reminds me a lot of the Voxmobile by Barris. And even though George Barris takes a lot of credit for the Monkeemobile, he did not design or build it, although some of the work may have been farmed out to him. It was designed by Dean Jeffries and built by Jeffries and his sidekick Dick Dean.

Very Nice Bobby.
I have to ask, what is the significance of the spikes on the barrel?
