[glow=red,2,300]ZZZ-28 Dragster!!! Deals Wheels Style!!![/glow] I started another Deal's Wheels Car, the ZZZ-28 Funster. Here are the body parts that were removed. I also sectioned the nose piece about 1/8". I needed 5 main pieces of sheet plastic for the new extended body. I started with the top piece. I measured, cut & fit untill I got the shape right. Then I glued it to the ZZZ-28 nose. Next I set the body and nose (with the added top piece of plastic) on a flat suface and I glued the other end of the top piece to the body. Next I cut out the side pieces, fit them in place and glued them in. Then I fit pieces of sheet plastic to fill the gap between the sections and glued them in place. I also covered the inside seams with putty to add strength to the joints.

I's like a 'Toony Digger Cuda! It does kind of look like the Digger Cuda. I got the original idea from Jim Keeler's Dodge Fever #1 & #2 Dragsters from the 1960's.

I think it's fairly clear someone from AMT had the same idea when the Digger Cuda body was dreamed up. Keeler's work on D/F 1 & 2 was groundbreaking and inspiring for sure. Another of my childhood modeling heros.

Thanks for the inspiration , who knows I just my take a leap of faith and something outside of the box... [glow=red,2,300]Thanks Chuck![/glow] The Muscle Bug Dragster sounds like a GREAT Project! Go ahead and start measuring & cutting. It's only Plastic! I have 100's of kits I wil never have time to build. So I am going to go ahead & take parts from kits that I have been "saving" and I am cutting up some of those "Favorite" kits. I have about 6 projects that I started this year just for the fun of it! Why not give it a try? It might be Fun!!!

Added height and increased the angle on the rear spoiler. I think this balances out the long nose a bit. I cut a piece of strip plastic to size and then I flattened the top of the Z-28 Spoiler with a sanding board. I attached the add-on spoiler with Zap-A-Gap.

[glow=red,2,300]PARTS!!![/glow] I've collected most of the extra parts I need for this build... * SKULL decals from Slixx set the theme! * Front Wheels & Tires From Stinger Dragster. * Dual Superchargers from AMT's 62 Corvette. *Dropped Front Axle from the Pie Wagon. *Skull from Revell's Evil Iron. The Skull will be modified Deal's Wheels Style. [glow=red,2,300]He is the New Driver!!![/glow]

I cut out a section in the hood to house the Twin Superchargers. Then I backed it with sheet plastic. I didn't care for the Supercharger Scoops that came with the Corvette, so I replaced them with Shotgun Scoops from AMT Challenger kits.

I made a Belly Pan for the front of ZZZ-28 from sheet plastic & glued it in place. I cut a grove for the front axle with a cut-off wheel in the Dremel Tool, then I filed it down smooth.

I made a little progress on the ZZZ-28 this weekend! I started setting up the Headers and a way of mounting them. First I cut eight 1" lengths of plastic tubing and cleaned them up. Then I set each set of the 4 pipes up 1/8" back on each one. Next glue was applied. I measured and figured where the Headers should exit the body and I cut a slot on each side. I cut away part of the Belly pan to make room for the Headers. Then I fit a piece of sheet plastic to fit between the body sides, along the slot for the Headers. Here are the Headers in position. Looks like a good fit! Here is a photo of the Headers in place.

I made some progress with the SKULL Driver! He had 2 fingers up in a peace sign. I cut the middle finger and carved it to fit in the fist. Now the driver is giving the Number One sign. I made a back for the SKULL and did some jaw surgery to close the mouth a bit. I also added plastic strips to build up the jaw bone.

Question for ya, Ira: How big are those eye sockets? (And/or the entire skull, itself?) Any chance of getting an image of that modded skull with, say, a common coin near it for comparison? (Thinking about possible future eye lights, is why I'm asking.)
