Hey Guys, I'm looking for the blue tinted glass from a 60's AMT 32 Ford Victoria... I actually need 2 sets. Cash, or Trade. TIA! Bill
This project involves 4 vintage Vickys... Any vintage 60's Vicky parts may be considered if the price is right. Thanks Again! Bill

Bill, I think you will have to tint that glass yourself. I have had a few of those old Vicky kits (built and un-built) and they all had clear glass.

Charlie, I don't know if you are right, or wrong on this one... Does someone know? I have 7 kits, or parts kits, some of them show blue glass on the box. All of my glass however is clear. I have seen these listed as factory blue before. If anyone knows the answer, Please share it with both of us! Thanks! Bill

I've had in excess of 20-25 of those kits in various manufacturer dates and Charlie is right.. I don't ever remember having one (even new one's I bought in the 60's) that had blue glass ... sounds like a job for Tamiya clear blue ...

Thanks Charlie, & Chuck! I don't doubt your wisdom... I have the utmost respect for both of you! I do not know the person I am about to quote, and cannot vouch for them. Just wanted to show where the hope of factory blue glass came from.
AMT 1932 Ford Victoria Trophy Series Orig Iss Model Car Kit This model has been assembled but some of the parts are loose from the body. Molded in black, a couple of the parts have been painted. Window pieces are transparent blue (factory). Box is in good aged condition with corner and edge rub but overall sturdy condition. No instuctions, no decals. Comes with just the parts shown.
2432- came with multiple suffix numbers... 2432-149 2432-170 more? maybe...
2342- also... 2342-170 2342-200 more? maybe...
I just had my hopes up that maybe one of these issue may have actually contained the blue glass. Thanks Fellas! Bill

In their eyes, it might have a slight blueness to it at the edges in low light? Or it could be their kit has tinted glass by a previous owner? I know someone that uses future mixed with food coloring and gets a REAL nice tint on his windows. The box art has blue glass, but that doesn't mean the kit has it. I wonder if that person assumes the glass is blue because of the art? I have had a bunch of Vic's too and never had any blue glass. I had this issue and no blue glass, built the Ford give away issue, no blue glass, several other issues from various years and decades....no blue glass lol Let me add....that doesn't mean it's not possible. It could be a rareness that not every kit had.

Just about everything was retouched those days with photos, and if you look at that box art, there's a lot of blue retouching. My guess is that is why it looks like that. Sorry Bill, but I'm just another old fart that has, or has had all the Vicky kits too, and no blue glass.....

Well I believe these are the top 4 guys I would prefer to seek information from on vintage kits. John, Bob, Chuck, & Charlie... I thank you for taking the time, and sharing your knowledge in this matter. The blue tinted windows still look great on the box. Guess it's time to tint my own. Thanks Again my Friends! Bill

Whether you believe me or would count me in your top info people I just thought I'd ring in Bill. There does happen to be one issue of the kit that I believe to have had the tinted glass but I've yet to ever own one. I may have some pics saved somewhere of ones that I had seen years ago in auctions but I'll have to find them at a later time for you. I can't even think of what the name of the kit was. There were several in the series and they didn't have the same style boxes. Johnny G used to refer to them as silent boxes because they didn't have any writing on the face. The boxes I'm regarding to are the same as they but they were larger faces and shallower boxes but still had that silent theme to them. Out of all the parts lots I've ever owned, I've yet to get any of the tinted glass from the kit I've seen but I have gotten the '34 Ford pickup with tinted glass and the Vicky was from the same series. These kits seem to be fairly uncommon. Like I said, take it for what it is which is my word of mouth but I have no reason to make it up. I'm also not calling into question any of the guy's experience, I'm merely telling you what I've seen for myself. I believe I have seen the blue glass kit but it's none of the normal sized boxed kits and it would have been from in the later 60's.

Oh no A.J.... I most certainly do not count you out! I just have not ssen you around for awhile, kinda forgot you were here. Sorry my friend. I bought the one on E-Bay... Seller swears its factory blue glass! I'm gonna put it to the test when it arrives! Maybe we can know for sure, or just uncover a phony. I know another guy who called to let me know he purchased the factory blue glass in a cheap built up. of coarse when I tried to buy it, it's not for sale! I Hate Carrot Danglers... Guess we'll see in a few days... I'll keep ya posted! Bill

Well guys I just can't remember the name on the box but like I said, it's not like the one you show Bob. It's more of a flat box. I think the plastic may have been blue as well. It's just been so long and I haven't been actively looking at kits for awhile now. I'll be watching to see how you make out Bill.
I'm not on here all the time but I do check in to see what's going on.

No offence intended AJ... The fact that this ol' fool has not seen ya, does not mean you've not been around. I got my blue glassed Vicky today, Same box Bob showed above. It's exactly the same color as shown on the box, But... It's painted.

AJ, I know the box that you refer to. I forgot about that one. Those kits are very rare, & I do mean rare. They are seldom seen at any shows, and if you do see them be prepared to have you wallet lightened up.
I remember seeing the 57 T-Bird, 65-7 GTO, the Vicky and a couple others in those flat boxes. You do not see them too often.
Maybe Dave knows more.

Man Charlie, talk about bringing back some memories. I remember seeing those kits at a Woolworths dept. store when I was a young lad. Very cool, and just maybe the one to look for. That's one I never had.

Yeah, I've tried to get the 34 pickup and the Vicky but both went higher than I wanted to spend Charlie.

Those are the ones Charlie. I had never seen the Nomad, very cool! From what I remember, they came with paint and a brush.

I got word back from my buddy Dave that built that Vic.
"the first 32 Vicky kit I ever saw I was 9 years old........that was 50 years ago. I have had hundreds since then and about 40-50 of those were original issues...... I have never seen ANY 32 Vicky kit with tinted windows straight out of the box."
I have known Dave for several years and I know he knows what he is talking about.....at least from his own experience in buying/collecting kits. He has one of the most impressive collections I have ever seen and he and his brother were buying/collecting back in the 1960's!
Bill it's possible the glass you show is factory, but from what I gather is it was just as easy to buy transparent candy blue paint and shoot the inside of the windows lightly to tint them.....which explains why the outside is so smooth and perfect looking. It is possible either way. I have had blue glass from a '60 Ford F100 .....it looked solid blue all the way, but it was stained from paint.
