Hi Ira,
another fantastic looking project ... its going to be one of your best projects ever
Each time when I have a look at project I am a mazed about the way it is changing.
But now I am missing very much that center strip from the corvette it started disappearing piece by piece when you started sanding and installing the Cord roof ...
especially when you installed this superb window split ... which is another great idea ... but somehow too flat ...
now its got something of a Bugatti Atlantic .... one of the most beautiful cars ever ... just in a more modern form
I think it was one of the best design ideas of the split window corvette to be inspired by that 30s luxury car and to have this middle line ... so please dont let it disappear !
it could give the car a fine detail having that strip back ... enhancing the symmetry of the whole project ... not as big as the Bugattis ... just as fine as it already came with the Corvette ... connecting the rearend over the splitwindow over the roof til the Cords split windscreen ... joining the whole body ... thus making it again a designunit ...
well ... that came into my mind when I saw it today

The center strip trim will be replaced as well as some horizontal trim on the hood sides. I'm taking a little break from the Cordvette for a while to think about the rest of the fender & rear end modifications. Started a AA/FD Monster Fink Dragster during the break...Photos coming later!

I think the windshield frame is a bit out of place with the smoothy swoopy look the rest of the build exhibits. (not that I would ever consider telling you how to build something). to me it looks very heavy however, have you thought about a frameless winshield? or maybe a sides supported only one like the Mako Shark ?

Thanks for your kind comment & suggestions Paul! I originally started with the Corvette Windshield, but it killed the 1930's Sports Luxury look that I was going for. It looked too modern... I agree the Split Windshield is not as smooth as the Vette's, but I want to keep this Strong Cord Feature. I am also using the Cord Dash, with either Camaro or Ferrari Seats...

Great work Ira!
I think the windshield looks bulky because there is such a contrast from the chrome to the grey primer.
When the body is painted I think the windshield will look just right. The front posts are the same thickness as the rear window split bar.

not that my 2 cents is worth... well 2 cents but I really like the split windshield - it retains some of the Cord styling and complements the split rear window

You could always strip the chrome from the windshield frame and paint it along with the body, that would take a lot of the bulk away from it, yet keep the Cord look.
Either way, it's gonna look killer.

[glow=red,2,300]Fillin' The Holes...[/glow] I cut 2 pieces of white sheet plastic to fit between the rear fenders and the body, and glued them in place.

This looks soooooooo cool! are those two front pieces. . . curved or flat? I hope there is a little curve to them to match all the rest of the beautiful lines on this build! It is just so COOOOOOOLLLLLL GB Barten
