RAIDER VETTE!I started the Raider Vette almost 2 years ago. I got most of the Body Work done, in the rough. Then I got sidetracked by several other projects and the Raider Vette was forgotten. I found the Raider Box last weekend and I started back again on the Body Work. The Raider Vette started with an old Monogram Cylon Raider, and Body Parts from an old Monogram 1960's Corvette and a Cherry Bomb Show Rod. More Coming...

The First Cuts!Here is the top of a built Cylon Raider I got on Ebay. I put the Built-Raider Model in a Ziplock added water and then put it in the freezer overnight. I took it out the next day and most of the glue joints released with just a little effort. I cut out this rectangular shape with a razor saw. Making room for Corvette parts... Next I cut the front end off of the Vette. More Coming...

Imbed the Vette!I made these two little cuts so that the sides of the Vette Front would fit better. Vette Test Fit. Could be Lower... I cut this section out so that the Vette Front would fit a little lower. Here is the Vette Front glued in place. More Coming...

Cherry Bomb Bubble!I'm going to use the Cockpit and Bubble Top from an old Built-Up, Monogram Cherry Bomb. First I cut the Cockpit from the Top section as shown. Next I cut off the this piece of the bottom section, for the back of the Top. More Coming...

Positioning the Bubble!I cut away part of the Corvette Hood and the Flat Area behind the Cockpit Area. Then I cut a piece of sheet plastic and covered the Flat Area that I had cut away. Test Fit! Looks pretty good. Then I glued the Cockpit in place with Zap-A-Gap Glue. More Coming...

Off With the Wings!I decided to change the Ends of the Wings. So I marked the section to be cut. Here is the Saucer after cutting the Ends off. More Coming...

A Little More Vette!I cut the Rear Section from the Corvette Body to fit around the Cherry Bomb Cockpit. Here is that Rear Section glued in place. Then I cut away some of the Cylon Raider Body as shown. More Coming...

New Raider Engines!The 2 Big Engines from the Pod Racer Kit look just right for the Raider Vette! I cut off some of the Rear Engine Covers from the underside to make room for the New Engines. Then I cut away excess plastic from the top to clear the Engines. More Coming...

Zig Zag Cuts!I used and X-Acto Knife and Files to make these Zig Zag Cuts on the rear of the Corvette Body. These cuts fit the Engine Fairings that are from the rear of the Cylon Raider. Then I cut a piece of sheet plastic to fill the big hole and glued it in place. Here are the Engine Fairings and the Cabin Shielding set in their new positions. More Coming...

Engine Fairings!First I cut 2 pieces of plastic to close off the ends of the Fairings. Next I glued the plastic pieces in. Then I glued the Fairings in place. More Coming...

Styline Scoop!Needed to do something to the hood area, so I added an old Styline Scoop from a 1960's AMT 3n1 Kit. Here is the Raider with another coat of Primer/Filler. I also put the Engines in place for a quick mock-up. Front View! More Coming...

Big & Little Raiders!I recently built one of the New Mobius Cylon Raiders and added complete VooDooFX Lighting and Special Effects. The Big Mobius Raider is about 17" across, almost twice the size of the old Monogram Raider. I am finishing up a "How To" showing all the steps for adding VooDooFX Lighting & Effects to the Mobius Raider. Watch for it, Coming Soon...

More Vents!I carved down the Rear Roof Section on more of an angle for a better fit. Then I glued it in place. Next I glued the Cabin Shielding in place behind the Roof. Then I added putty around the Rear Roof Section and sanded it smooth. Here it is after a coat of Primer. More Coming...

Cylon Stylin'...This part normally fits on the front of the Cylon Raider. I am cutting this Cylon Part in half and using part for the New Front Grill and the other part for a Digital Display in the Interior. After a little trimming the Cylon Part fits right inside of the Corvette Nose. More Coming...

The Other Part!I cut the triangular shape off the other half of the Cylon Front End Part to make a Digital Display for the cockpit. After a little Fitting and Trimming I got a Great Fit in the Cherry Bomb Cockpit. Here it is in place. More Coming...

It's Flying!I replaced the stock set up for the mount and glued in a piece of tubing just large enough fit a 1/4" Clear Plastic Rod. Here is the inside shot. Later, I glued a piece of plastic to cover the end of the tube. Now Raider Vette can be mounted up on the clear rod, flying above the base. More Coming...
