Not having ever participated in a modeling contest, I did not know there was a "problem" with judged shows--but at the same time, I'm not surprised there is. Any time you have ANY type of subjective judgment, there will be controversy. After reading through their approach, it seems like a better way. Any time one can reduce or eliminate drama and broaden the experience, it's probably a good thing. I'm going to attend the IPMS Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin, on July 19: nats2024.com/

Now a showrod, but a one-off. Being a former GTO owner, we Pontiac folks dig this: W hat Is the 1964 Pontiac XP-833 Banshee Concept, Why Wasn’t It Made, and Why Is It For Sale?!
This stunning Pontiac concept car never saw the light of day because Chevrolet feared it. Now it’s for sale! 1964 Pontiac Banshee

I am excited to see this effort get off of the ground! I just subscribed for two years. Looking forward to it.

The Cragars look perfect on this Ranchero. Tell me about the "sticker" decals--I'm always curious about them since I collected automotive stickers as a kid.

When the Park ranger breaks down, you know you're in trouble!
Wonderful details--all the way down to the tools. Now, tell us the significance of St. Joe, MI?

Any idea what year the Bronco is? I see these when I go to Mecum and fully restored, they go for big bucks.

This posting brings back good memories. I built the Amphibious Weasel as a kid, and now have two of them on the shelf, including this sealed one. Also below, me posing with a real Weasel on a trip with my dad in 2014 to visit car and military museums in Indiana. I love these things. Two pics below:

Great detail as always. Is that Rommel's Rod coming over the horizon?

Now you're talking! Just started watching the 2 seasons again on Roku. Formula:
1. Lots of sand.
2. many explosions.
3. Germans die cleanly from the 50-cal. machine guns.
4. Sometimes, our heroes get captured.
5. This character always getting bettered by our protagonist: Hauptmann Hans Dietrich is a primary character featured in The Rat Patrol; an officer in the German military, he served as the primary nemesis to Sergeant Sam Troy and the Rat Patrol. He was portrayed by Hans Gudegast.
6. Endings are always in some kind of Turkish bar outpost, drinking and reflecting on the day's work.

The details here are a blast! Thanks for taking pics from all angles so that we can see them. For example, I missed the coiled-up hose until I saw the pic from the back.
Can you explain the road itself? It looks too real! And what about that sign itself? Did you use Google translate and then make them yourself?

Looks like a WWI version of Rat Patrol (which I'm now watching with my brother on Roku.)
Hey, what's with the kangaroo insignia on the vehicles? We are down-under here, fighting who?

Excellent work. Love the piled-up scuba gear, ready-to-go. Now drive to the beach and get a pic in the sand! (or just use the neighbor kid's sandbox.)
Keep 'em coming!

I don't to rude or clacise but do you know this a "SHOWROD"site for SHOWRODS This is a confusing post. This part of the Coffin Corner was created for NON-showrod work. I posted a 68 Charger here a year ago. I will address this with you offline.

I never paid much attention to it, but Proboards allows the administrator to set "rankings" for members, based on their numbers of postings. Paul Canney obviously set these up in the Board's early days. They are not secret, so for the curious, here ya go:

Thanks for posting this. Since ISCA was a sponsor, I went to their website and found this "standings" list. I see there is a "local" guy at the top. Not sure what to make of the list. In other words, just making appearances with your custom (in this case,) moves you up the list? Anyone? Anyone? www.theisca.com/standings/#custom

Talk about trippy! Amazing detail. Thanks for sharing, Joel. On further review, I was so smitten with the details on the modeling table, I missed the FULL MOON shining through the werewolf's window! Now we need Bud Abbot and Lou Costello leaning over, showing them pointers. (Reference to my childhood of this classic:)

Anyone ever see this before? My friend Mike Scott alerted me to this tonight: free3d.com/3d-model/groovy-grader-1412.htmlSo for $15, you can download the 3D file and print it? in 3D, complete with every detail and not have to build the thing? In whatever scale you wanted? And then paint and decal it? Mike tells me that you can do 3D scanning with a smartphone now By the way, no way TD licensed this operation.

Some of you already know this I'm sure, but for those who have not, check out Scalemates, scale modeling database. It's quite impressive for looking up "every" issue of a scale model. For example, here is a search for the TD Red Baron: www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION%5B%5D=All&q=Monogram+red+baron*What I love is the "Product timeline" on the kit:
