Love that "squatty" look that these tires give everything. That blue you chose is sharp. Also, nice touch on giving credit to your compatriots.

I made my Mysterion build presentation at the GSL in May and the video is posted at Mark Gustavson's Model Car Builder's Museum web site. Here is the video archive.org/details/gsl-xxv...g-you-ever-wanted-to-know-about-the-mysterionFor Jollies I entered the car in the contest and it won second place, Reproduction category. First place in the category went to Randy Duer's insane 1/12 scale Corvette road racer. Not only did it win the Best in Category, it won Modeler's Choice, Best Detail, Dave Shuklis Best Engineering, and for good measure, Best in Show awards! The video to the Mysterion link is not working. Looking at the link, seems as though the link got "compressed/truncated" somehow?

Such a great kit ! I picked up an unbuilt original a couple of years ago and every time I see one I get the itch to build it . Maybe I missed something but your link only shows me some photos and no article . I misspoke. It's a gallery with notations. But here is a nice summary in Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mako_Shark_(concept_car)

Can't go wrong with old Pro Stockers and I think leaving the side windows off was the right call on this one. And yes, when the box art is righteous, it must be displayed with the build kit for the "full effect".

I saw this coming out of my gym in Cedarburg, Wisconsin yesterday. Like many of you, I collected and stuck Odd Rods everywhere in the late 60s. LOVED them. Id this more of a takeoff of that or of Ed Roth? This got me thinking, "Did they contact-license with the owners of the Odd Rods IP?" Hmmmmmmm. In any case, it was a fun blast from the past to see it. Check this out. There is a metal sign here of the original wrapper I may need for my garage wall: www.oddrods.com/

Imgur is a free site you don't pay to have your photos stored there. I use it for posting my photos here. That's what I use now and find it relatively easy and quite effective.

Good day Show Rod Rally fans and members. It has come to my attention that members can no longer post " Attachments" on these forums. My Admin tools tell me that is because we have FAR exceeded the paltry MB storage allotment given by Proboards (see image below--they allot 200MB and we are over triple that.) My choices are:- Start paying $9/month for more storage, which will also run out pretty quickly and need to go to $12/month.
- Kill all of the existing images and files already attached through 20 years of discussion posts and free up the space to "start over".
- Leave existing images and attachments and direct all members to post images using a different source.
After careful consideration, I choose option #3. I will leave all existing images and attachments and I encourage everyone to use an image site like imgur to post all new images in these forums. If I different option appears that makes more sense, I reserve the right to change my mind Quick notes: - I'm paying $6/month to Proboards to keep ads off for everyone who logs in (guests will see ads). This is of course in addition to hosting and domain name fees I incur annually.
- When I started this thing in 2001, I resisted the temptation to put Google Ad Sense on the Rally and make money off of it. That policy will continue. I do not want that commercial clutter in my hobby life (even though now I'm retired and on a "fixed income" )

I plan to change engines and those dumb "fenders" and add an ice cream vendor, that seat has to go too !! I'm glad you drew me to this thread. I'm slowly working on this one right now and this pic is another good reference.

Sorry Dave but I honestly didn't think to take a photo when I got the kit home. Just going to post a shot of the pile o' pieces I've since reduced it to and it tells me I'm unable to post anyway. I think I ran into this situation quite a while ago as well. Any idea how long before it's corrected? Unable to post a pic? Hmmmmmm. Let me try the attachment tool first. OK, we've exceeded the site's attachment limit. I'll work on that. Thanks for the heads-up--DR

So I had to look at the page in the Show Room for this one. I forgot it was 1972. How did those 51-year-old decals go on for you? Love those big meats on the end. Very nice build and gets my Sunday off to a good start. Here is the goofy description from the box: ------------------------------------
Born: 1923. The Mob was proud. Henry Ford's Model "T" was a good dependable car. Legit. Graduated: 1939. The "Kid" rescued it from the Wrecking Yard and "Souped it Up". He added a 1932 Ford modified frame. Still running the "iron hearse" Ford Flathead. Married: 1955. World's first Hot Rodder wedded the T-Bucket to a stormin' Chevy v-8 mill, with an "Isky" cam. Started movin' in on sweepstakes trophies at car shows. The RODFATHER: 1973. The Father Of All Roadsters is takin' you for a ride on Goodyear "Steamroller" slicks. Join the Rodfather's Family. It's an offer you can't refuse.

I see MCM has an option for a digital subscription as well. I think this feature is a great excuse to trek down to my old hobby shop in West Allis, WI, and score this issue. Congrats and thanks for the heads-up!

A great example of what can be done with these kits if, like me, you're not really into "trikes".

Finally warm enough to get the 67 Buick GS400 out for a righteous ride to the hobby shop. And yes, scored the MPC Squad Rod, and it seems to be complete with decent decals, which are pretty important on this one.
