I always say sellers have 2 prices - one price is to sell it and the other is the price for them to keep .. I always get a kick out of a seller who throws a rediculous "buy it now" on their auctions ..by that I mean $300 for a $75 item especially when there's 2-3 of the same dang thing listed for $75 !!.. like they're trying make it appear as though it will eventually sell for much more later in the auction.. strategy? maybe... they still have to pay to list it a buy it now fee ... I've had the same cenerio regarding "Make an offer"... dropping the price buy a couple bucks is a little lame unless the seller REALLY wants to let it collect dust on their shelves ..

Yes it is pretty lame, especially since the seller has been listing it since March. I dont think $10 off was a crazy offer.

You would think some sellers would wise up by constantly listing the same kit. Listing fees cost money. After a while they could have sold you that kit for your offer price and MADE money. After all the repeated lsiting fees, now they GOTTA sell it for their insane price just to break even. lol

"There's a couple of people around here that could learn from this" "There's a couple of people around here that could learn from this coffincorner.proboards.com/index.....ay&thread=10926 " No offence here Paul, but I fail to understand why you would threaten to band that guy because he woudln't accept your offer on Ebay. I read all 67 of his posts and all but 1-2 are about wanting parts or selling parts. His intro was even an ad to sell at a show. I dont think it is all about him not taking Paul's offer. But I have seen stranger things around here. Ken...

"I read all 67 of his posts and all but 1-2 are about wanting parts or selling parts. "
Isn't that exactly what those areas of the board are for? Or am I missing something here? I guess in the grand scheme of things, it really isn't that big of a deal now that I think back about it.. I don't know.
On a lighter note, I scored a new unbuilt Roth Tweety Pie II, Road Agent, and Mysterion all for $10 each from a local guy who scored a ton of kits. I am going back tonight since he hadn't unpacked them all just yet. They had the shrink wrap still on the lids, but the bottom was cut so you could remove the lid to check the contents. SWEET!

He only logs in to post new things for sale. But I caught some flack when I banned someone who was a regular but decided to start selling under a new Corner ID without telling anyone so I'm letting it slide. My point is, he doesnt seem to be paying attention to names and emails as my email on ebay is the same here. So I feel we're being somewhat 'used' Recently he posted some 1/8th scale stuff here that was 40% higher than the ebay auction currently has it listed at. I submitted a best offer (not a lo ball) on a current ebay listing and got a counter offer $3 lower than the buy it now. I'm letting the 'selling on the corner only' aspect ride until the complaints come in. I would like to see him participate in other conversations. It might even help him hawk his wares. But I doubt he'll even see this.

I'm sure we all have had a bad experience with odd Ebayers. I have been watching an old souvenier pennant (remember those ?) for well over a year now. The guy did the same thing, dropped the price a buck or so. Its still listed ! Its kind of the same thing in the real world, how many of us have tried to buy a car thats been sitting dead off someone ,and the guy either wants a million for it, or won't sell it for any amount and one day you see it heading toward a junkyard? The world is a strange place, and the internet makes the weird ones even closer to us !

You lucky dog I just need a Tweety Pie for my collection I have not seen that many listed. I hope it gets re issued. Also that is how I open my kits as well it protects the box.

Well after a long wait and stalking the mailman on a daily basis another grail has landed.... The 8th scale Tub! I haven't had a chance to inspect the entire kit but I was hoping to see a redish/orange body color like the Big T.. Although it is a cool shade of orange,, I was a bit disappointed NOT seeing the red body.. I have located a dry flake gun here locally so when the time comes it looks like a nice specimen for some 1:1 red flake. ... (have you worried there for a minute there Timbo?) ;D

Ok, here is one of the only kits I've picked up recently that qualifies as a score. First, its one of my grails; I got one of these for my 14th birthday in 1975, and I've always wanted another one to replace it. ( the original one fell off the shelf way too many times) Its a partial buld up , but nothing was painted ,missing or broken - it even came with a mint decal sheet and instructions !

Hi!! I picked up a STAR WARS MILLENIUM FALCON by MPC acouple of years ago for $1.00 at a FLEA MKT!! I dont plan on building it !! The box is crushed but it is from MPC so it is old! It has the instructions I beileve, looks to be about 80% there! Will trade for vintage built-ups from the 1960s-1970s or Ulrich MINI MEN!!! I will try and post photo today!!

HI guys!! On the STAR WARS MILLENIUM FALCON, the only thing from MPC/ERTL is actually the box!! The instructions say Amt /Ertl 1995 !! Some smartypants must have sold this for an MPC before I got it!! The kit itself looks new to be MPC!! I apologize!! It is still almost complete!! Not bad for a buck!!

I picked up a bagged Quicksilver today for $3.00. It was only missing the decals. It was pretty weird because the body is not molded right and the lower windshield frame does not connect on one side, but I have another body so it will be ok. I also picked up a toyota Hiace delivery for $8.00. I am going to try and make an ice cream truck out of it. And last I picked up a boot hill mostly for the skeleton and the back rims and tires.
