[glow=red,2,300]I am Building a MONSTER!!![/glow] I have always liked Stanley "Mouse" Miller's artwork. He is one of my favorite local artists! I happened to place these kits together on the shelf and I got an Idea! I haven't built a hot rod monster kit since I was a kid, but here goes... I am going to remove all the Super Fuzz type details and replace them with parts for Drag Racing! Looks like Freddy is going to be a SUPER ALTERED driver! I have collected most of the Altered parts and hope to get started today! [glow=red,2,300]STAY TOONED!!![/glow]

Oh yes!The Monogram Mouse models were always my favorite of the 60's monster styled kits! This should be mega-coolsville!

[glow=red,2,300]SUPER ALTERED!!![/glow] First, lets change Fred's identity from Super Fuzz to Super Altered! I removed the Gumball Lite Base and Badge from Fred's helmet. Next I sprayed Fred's insides with flat black & glued his body together. Then I applied putty, removed the Sarge Tatoo and started sanding him smooth.

[glow=red,2,300]This Little V6 Won't Do![/glow] Freddy needs More Horsepower to go Racing...He needs a HEMI! I found a nice set of HEMI Heads & Valve Covers in Big Daddy's XXX Dragster. The New Heads are a perfect fit! I also added the back of the Supercharger from a 1/16th scale Revell Funny Car.

You should mount the wing from the W.E. kit to the drivers helmet.
This looks like an interesting project.

[glow=red,2,300]Thanks for the suggestion![/glow] I thought of doing that...then I found the rear frame section from B.D. Garlitts XXX Dragster. This frame section looks like it might be a good starting point for a New Roll Bar/ Wing Mount & Parachute Mount! We'll see how it works out...

[glow=red,2,300]BODY WORK!!![/glow] After gluing the body halves I cleaned the seams up. Then I shaved & sanded the "FUZZ" lettering off the sides. Next I made a dashboard/windshield base from sheet plastic & glued it in place.

[glow=red,2,300]MORE BODY WORK!!![/glow] The back edge of the T body was curved out and had a curved top edge too. I cut a section out of the back and replaced it with flat sheet plastic. The pickup bed cavity inside the body was covered with sheet plastic also. Then I ground down the tailgate area flat, for adding trim later.

[glow=red,2,300]TRIMMING the T[/glow] I replaced the trim along the rear-top edge of the body and added "T style" trim to the tail gate. I used 2 sizes of Evergreen's half round plastic strips and glued them in place with Zap-A-Gap.

[glow=red,2,300]A LITTLE PADDED ROOM FOR FREDDY!!![/glow] I started to make a racing seat for Fred and quickly realized that Fred's huge butt didn't leave any room for a seat. So I decided to add padding to the inside of the body instead. I used the interior panels from two Monogram Stinger/Trick T kits. First I cut them up, so I could start fitting the pleated upholstery in. After a little more cutting and fitting...Here are all the sections glued in place! I gave Fred a test fit and I think he likes it!

[glow=red,2,300]SHIFTING GEARS![/glow] Time for Fred to exchange his Nightstick for a "T" Shift Handle! First I cut the Club off with a razor saw and filled in the ends with putty. Then I drilled a hole in the end for the Panic Button. Next I cut off the head of the nail, off the Club and attached it in the hole as shown. I found a red taillight will fit on the end of the Panic Button. Don't know what the Button is for yet, but it looks cool...

you could use the panic button to activate the nitrous? I know it's a blown fuel altered that doesn't need nitrous, but he could have added it just to cheat a little bit.

[glow=red,2,300]GOOD IDEA ROB!!![/glow] Or maybe the nitrous could be for Freddy.... [glow=red,2,300]MONSTER ENERGY[/glow] is Freds sponser, maybe that could be a button to give him a drink?

Or maybe the nitrous could be for Freddy.... Maybe this painting I did will give you inspiration. I originally wanted the nitrous line going into the rat's nose, but it didn't look right so I put it in his mouth. The bottle is floating behind the rat's left ear.
