Getting ready for ALCLAD... No those are just black ... no ALCLAD yet .. I sanded all the pipe joints then filled with super glue and sanded again..then 2 light coats of lacquer primer and a light sanding again ... then I went to grab my gloss black and I was out !! YIKES!! .. so... I rooted into my House of Kolors stash and there it was.. 2 ounces of unused black ! ... YES! ,,, so on went the black (3 coats) then paint flash - then a little 4:1 urethane mix (2 coats) and BOOM!... now we wait....

It must be the lighting because those don't look black ! Guess I need more prep work on my parts before I spray Alcad on them .

It must be the lighting because those don't look black ! Guess I need more prep work on my parts before I spray Alcad on them . I have 3 bright lights above my booth .. 2 inside and 1 outside on a magnetic base...I believe it's the urethane over the black that's reflecting the light ...remember the smoother the better... I just shot the Alclad and considering all the nooks and crannies of these headers I'm pretty pleased.. Time to leave well enough alone .. I sure don't feel like building another set... Lol

This old girl is fairly heavy .. I noticed the front wheels were starting to show some negative camber .. so I removed the front wheels and cut off the plastic spindles .. then drilled the spindles out to accept .125 thick wall aluminum tubing at 0 camber.... now the wheels set the way they're supposed to .. before modifications... :

Chuck,
I hate to be the one to bring this up, but you've totally screwed up. Even worse, I'm giving you this information as it seems you are so close to completing this beauty.
I'm pretty sure every serious model builder tries to outdo their last build with each new project. So the question arises, How do you outbuild this?
