Where I've been hiding and what I've been up to . : Chatting with a couple fellow list members I became really motivated to build a large scale Uncertain-T .. I started laying the measurements out on paper and then a day or so later I was chatting with Scaledetail Bill ... later that day Bill sent me an a message telling me "I had a really good day" .. I thought what in the world is he talking about ? .. it warranted a phone call and it seems as though he had worked his magic and patterned the body out for me before I had a chance too ! .. man what a swell guy ! ! .. At this point I knew I was on a mission ... the rest is in the photos .. Phase 1 - heat and bend the body - Phase 2 - work the compound curves into shape and frame up the front window - Phase 3 - build lower panel and tail light bezels fit inner headliner - scribe tons of lines and drill holes for pins (buttons) make panels- build a frame- narrow the front end - build to resemble Steve's torsion bar front end - make a key ! fab and cast a dash - a little mock up - squirt a little kustom paint- have Pegleg Bob make a license plate just like Steve's - waiting on some additional parts like custom made rear tires, finned brake drums, injected nail head Buick engine and an optional front tire setup .. thank you Don Garret for keeping my head on straight, Bill Clark, Pegleg Bob B., David Thompson for paint advice, Jeff Palmer, Paul Canney for selling me the donor kit , John Bissinger my "go to" guy for special parts ! and my friends at the KKIM for helping heat (JonDutch) , hold (Craig S.) and bend (Randy Meyer and his mind bending capabilities) the body into shape and TRD for your magic in the rack & pinion and engine department ..

Chuck, this is without a doubt one of the best scratch builds to come down the pipe around here in a hell of a long time.
Your attention to detail and realism is unprecedented. I KNEW you would be the one to master this beast in 1/8 scale.

INMHO This is based on one of the ugliest rod Ive ever laid eyes on! Sorry That's it! Turn in your Klown Kard! Seriously, out of all the truly ugly Showrods out there, and there are some butt ugly ones, how can you not love the Uncertain T? The car is drop dead gorgous and the worst thing about the kit, other than unavailablity is, the front wheels are turned when it's finished.
