Working on finishing the chassis now. Added an inch to the frame to make room for the Big Hemi. I used 2 frames for the extension, the front section from one & the rear from the other. I also drilled a hole in the ends of the frame and inserted brass rod between the sections for added strength.

I got some work done on the engine. I went with the dual carb option instead of the scoop. The shift linkage was missing so I made new linkage with solder and "Tacky Glue". I built up the thick glue to make the junctions on the solder. Then it only needed only a little paint to finish the new linkage.

I finally got the Muscle Machine wheels & tires mounted to the kits axles! Most of the chassis is finished! Now I can start to lower the front body section over the suspension arms.

Lookin' good Ira!! Any ideas for color yet?? Thanks! I am thinking about painting it Testors Lime Ice with Red Flames and a tan interior. Color Change! I am painting the 34 Ford Camino Tamiya "Mica Red" over Silver Leaf & Black areas. There will also be modern '57 Chevy Trim Graphics & Tribal Flames! The interior will be grey, red & black.

I trimmed down and cut out the front section to fit over the suspension. Here is how it fits now...

The I got this wild idea! I cut the ends off two ball point pens and glued them onto the backs of the front section, then added a little putty...

Here is a mockup with the front section in place. I think I might add amber lights to the ends of the ball point pen ends to light up the engine...

If ya wanna get crazy, cut the bullets out of the bumper, make them your headlights. Then make the headlights into into air inlets, lose the current aircleaners and make cold air style ducts that connect to the pen pieces you added. Now that would be STRANGE! I did a quick edit to show what I meant, I think it's pretty cool looking. Then again, I've been told I'm pretty strange. ;D

I was working on the headers yesterday, and you know, the big collectors on the headers just weren't working for me. I needed something to help the design flow. The short pipes were too distracting... So, first I extended the pipes about 3/16" with plastic rod. Then I removed the collectors and molded in some nice long side pipes. These new pipes fit just below the body and exit right in front of the rear tires. Now for some primer!

Good idea with the new pipes, Ira. It needed something to pull it closer to the ground.
