I didn't know how hard this would be, but, what if you raked the body a little more so it lines up with the new grill better? [glow=red,2,300]Thanks for the suggestion Michael![/glow] You're right, the body & nose line up better with the body lowered more. Lowering the body would be difficult, but I could raise the nose to match the height & angle of the body! Here is a photo with the nose raised about 5/16". I think this is going work out well! Thanks again Michael.

Nice! I like the progressive sizing of the taillights. From this angle it looks like a trunk, not a PU bed and it's giving me some crazy hybrid ideas.

When I decided to glue the tail light housings together, rather than trying to fit them to the body one at a time, the job went much easier...

Started cutting on the chassis again..... I cut the front frame rails and reattached them 1/8" lower. Now the engine is level and the body has a nice rake. Notice the exhaust pipes are missing? I am working on the third set of pipes for this car...maybe this time I'll get it right. Photos coming soon.

Third times the charm Ira!!! ;D As far as the frame revamp, well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.....I'm sure it will be perfect. Thanks! The MPC Headers were not symmetrical, not right for this application. I am streching a set of Revell Headers to fit the Big MPC HEMI. Waiting for the primer to dry now...

Here is the test fit for the New Primed Headers! On the right is an orginal Revell Header from a funny car kit. On the left is the New "Streched" Header for the big MPC HEMI! Using a razor saw I sepperated the headers along the top flat piece with 3 cuts. Then I used the razor saw and partially sepperated the pipes at the bottom end so that I could spread the headers apart 1/16". Next I glued three 1/16" plastic strips between the cuts in the top piece, to spread the pipes. Then I glued the bottom of the pipes to hold them in this spread position. Next I carefully cut the top piece from the exhaust pipes with a razor saw. I replaced the top piece with a New plastic strip. I think I'll stick with these headers, at least for a while, but I am going to replace the old carb gas lines...

I found these Wild Tenneau Covers with Speakers on Ebay! They come 2 in a package. They measure 2 & 3/4 by 3 & 1/2 and can be trimmed to fit your truck bed. I figured with all the Noise coming from that Big HEMI, I needed extra speakers so I could hear the radio. It was a tight fit, the speaker backs just barely fit inside the bed...

[glow=red,2,300]CHEAP SCREEN!!![/glow] I got this tip from my friend Bruce Miller, he uses this screen on many of his Prize Winning 8th scale builds. This is a "Splatter Screen", its at the Dollar Store, for a dollar! Here is a way to shape screen to fit in the front grill opening. First trace the shape of the area on to sheet plastic and cut it out. Then trace around the plastic shape leaving about 3/8"extra screen all around and then cut out the screen. Next center the shape on the screen and slowly bend the screen around the shape. Here is the screen in place, this is my second try, one more time should do it! I need to use a bigger piece of screen next time this one was was a little bit too small after I shaped it

Added a Roll Pan to the rear. I cut a piece of sheet plastic to fill the gap in the rear. A little putty and sanding and it should blend right in. This should be the last modification before painting. Here is the low- rear view!

Got some paint on the Body & Interior! The body was painted with Tamiya Mica Red and Flat Black. The 57 Trim Decals are Slixx & the Flames are Revells 49 Mercury. Tamiya Clear was sprayed over the decals. The interior is painted Mica Red with Testors Dullcote and Flat White And Flat Black.
