Super detailing, well done, keep up the good work. It's something I can't do as I don't know that much about how the 1:1 cars are put together.

Well the black seat is a plastic race seat from one of my kits, I used it as the buck so the white seats are all plaster cast. The coloured surfboard is a fridge magnet I bought when we were out in Australia, looking to retire there and used that as the buck for the white ones. Pebeo do colours that you mix with either the plaster or crystal when casting. I don't see the bomber seats on the R&M website. Interesting! And what did you do to make the mold? I'll have to check out their product line -thanks for the tip pat! I'll see if I still have the packaging or the part number for the bomber seats - but Ken Hamilton makes some GORGEOUS ones that I want to try, as does The Parts Box in Oz Here's the Gedeo Pebeo moulding medium. You get two plastic screw top packs, one white (setting) and one blue, which you can hand mix and press in the buck your using allowing two holes in the mould. When it hardens (5 Mins) you peel the mouls away from the buck. I put the two halves back together held that way by one or two elastic bands depending on the size of the mould. Pour in the plaster or resin, (the plaster taking a further 5 mins or so to set) and wait until the plaster appears out of the other hole to ensure there is no air in the mould. Time and peal away the rubber mould and the set part appears. The moulds can be used numerous times as my picture shows..... the mould looks like....

Thanks Dennis, the resin build so far............. Just built a second Mountain Bike and covered the frame in chrome tape. I'm looking for some thin wire to do the brake/gear/cables and chain tomorrow. Woodgrain decalled the rear deck inside the coffee stick wooden slat sides. Made a two bike rack for the deck. And just test fitted it all to the body. Still unsure about the body colour.

I'll have to read that again. I have no rod kits left and they are quite difficult to get here in the UK. Is it like a community build? Am I on the right idea or not?

This is coming along really fast James, it looks superb! I use the Gedeo Pebeo as well for various parts and their white plaster for race seats and surfboards. Love the bomber seats too!

Well I've had various ideas, use coffee sticks to lay a wood floor, use the same coffee sticks to make a woody style bed fence all round, last year I bought some scale flat pack cardboard boxes that need to be folded and glued, I have a roof rack kit, lay on surfboards, or mount a mountain bike in the back on a carrier. So many ideas such short a time!

James here's a couple of shots I took whilst building just after I'd fitted the steering and test fitted the bodyshell.............. They show the extent of the steering travel side to side.

Thanks again James, yes the steering works as part of the kit, and it works very well too.

Thanks ScratchFever, it was a very nice build, but I wish they would keep the chrome parts separate from other parts, I know most of them do, but not in this case.

Now there's a superb build idea, thanks James. On the bench today the Monogram L'il Van, so building the engine today, cleaned up the body after washing all the parts. Built the Sand Crab a couple of years ago and the decals were shot so printed a few off and added those............ And after that a Fujimi KDR30 Skyline!

Hi kabdriver James. This was an Airfix kit of the Subaru WRX in 2001!They build pretty well mainly because they are basic. The rollcage for example is two sides and a rear square that goes down to the rear floor, I then sorted a piece of small diameter plastic pipe and put it between the two sides over the drivers seat to complete a 'cage'. I found two 'vanes' of a rear wing,(here in blue) and made the uprights and end plates from plastic card, as the front has two'vanes' that are just triangles cut from plasticard. I Googled 'Time Attack Cars' and got a lot of photo's of them and copied a rear wing. I also scavenged an aero tunnel from a sportscar that I had converted to a road car to add to the rear......... and just used any decals I could find to add to the tuner/racer/drifter look. I found some 1:48 scale aircraft numbers/letters but they are in grey and don't show up as well as hoped. It's difficult to find the larger numbers needed in black! I'll have to see If I can find some on the web and print them myself in black and red.

Yes that's the one but on another......! One question, can my sprinter go on this site somewhere? Also a query about my Kinser build, there's a chrome part No. 168 that is on the sprue but not in the build, it looks like a cover for something important. And why do the kit makers chrome so much that has to be painted over? Namely the top of the small front wing (Black). The huge roof wing is all chromed but the box art and the destruction's say the outside of both side wing plates are to be bright/flourescent Red, before adding the big decals, and the inside of the wing painted Black before the small decals. Why chrome when you have to take it off to paint? Really odd, so much easier to go the same way as the rest of the kit in standard white sprue!
