A good buddy of mine who is less computer savvy than I am ( believe it or not ) is looking for a rear bumper for his Tom Daniel Super Taxi Nova . His is an original, but he doesn't care if its from the reissued kit or not, he'd just like to have old kit complete again. If anyone has one to spare, or even has a trashed build that still has a rear bumper, please let me know.

Unfortunately , Bob passed away a couple of years ago from cancer . I was a member on his model site .Even though I never met him, he called me a few times and we had long talks about the hobby. He was a great guy and would go out of his way to help people out. Whenever I look at some of the decals he made for me of the years I think about him . It took me a while to get back to building after he passed, but I know that's what he would want us to do

Great story on the BHE ! I agree with the writer of the article too ; many show rods just went to far - the ZZR comes to mind, among others

Now that is a really "COOL" build !! It kind of has the look of a European Hearse with the large glass area ; I could see this being a real kit back in the day !!

Last November 11th, a former member here passed away. Most commonly known as Krazy Rick, he built all kinds of wild cars, show rods, monsters, did lots of custom paint for people on models and motorcycles and had lots of wild ideas. His collection showed up at a hobby shop last week and it will take some time to sort out.
Question...what do you all plan to do with your stuff? Are you keeping it until you die or passing it along to family and friends before then? I have some stuff to get rid of but it is fragile and hard to pack and ship. I don't want to leave it for someone else to sort out, so I prefer to pass it along now. There are no real model car museums and few real car museums that want models. Hmmm??? Hi Howard I remember him. Kool Kat. Didn't have a web page ?? Do you know who took over ?? Thanks Don V He did have have a web page which is still up and running ; I dont know who took over at this time

this is awful news . My condolences to Paul's family . While I never met him , I felt like he was a friend , and was always willing to help someone out, or give advice . He really was a huge reason this site has been going strong all these years.

The Mixer, Guber, and Meter Cheater were all released in 1970 , the T Bone and Pending were issued a few years later . My guess is that the Moon Mixer was Dave's creation , maybe it was suggested he come up with a car with a tie in to the space race craze and the Apollo moon landing . The later issues I've always assumed were just Revell's way of making up new kits using most of an already on hand mold to save on tooling costs ,like the Dragon Wagon became the Hangman, etc..

Show Rods - Missed it by that much! Too bad. I think I'll work on the Phone Booth at another time. I really want I already started casting the Space capsule/mixer for the Moon Mixer. I've been buying parts for a while. I have two boxes and almost enough for two complete kits. I was missing the lunar lander mixer for one. I am attempting to cast the one I have. So far, the second mold for the back plate came out good. The first was a fail when I did not secure the part to the bottom of the mold cup well enough and it floated up. I'm also in the middle of the second mold for the capsule. The first one failed because I did not think to plug the tiny mounting holes in the side of the capsule and the liquid rubber leaked into the the capsule which gave a mold that is a 1/4" short at the top. Live and learn. Isnt the capsule basically the same part as the Revell capsule and lunar lander kit ? I used the thrusters from a junk Apollo capsule I had ( my original "free" gift from the Young Model Builders Club) and those parts were identical

Other than the windshield frame being on backwards and the REALLY melted rims, it looks pretty good. Not sure where you could find correct rims for it, tho. Tempting! Are the rims melted or is that Elmer's white glue seeping out instead? It may be worth contacting the seller to confirm... I was thinking Elmers' glue as well. I have one of these still waiting to be restored so I wont be bidding ; this could be a good project for someone here !

I'd go with the Phone Booth as well ; I spent months restoring my Moon Mixer so I'm all too familiar with that , and the "wheelbarrow" never did anything for me.

There have been a few times where I became frustrated or even bored with building, but I've always come back to it. Now I build when I can, and sometimes its only a couple of parts on in a week . As for the frustration ?.. well, I've really got into restoring old built up kits partially for the price I can get them, and partially for the challenge . Sure, there's times when I feel like I should chuck it against a wall , but I just walk away and get to it on a later date. Its up to you of course, but maybe take a few months off , and see if your creative urges step in again .

I'm sure many guys here have built one, myself included, but I never really thought about posting it. To me its more of a fantasy drag vehicle instead of a showrod , even though its on the list.

I guess if you really wanted to , you could replace them with some old Monogram slicks ; they used them in a lot of kits ,so it shouldn't be too hard to find a pair

Hey everyone, I have been trying to find a decently priced Popcorn Wagon made by MPC and everything I found on Ebay, Amazon, etc had an outrageous price tag attached to it. I spent a couple of hours online and stumbled across a shop called Vintage Toy Universe located in Ocala, Florida and they had one for $34.95 which I promptly bought. Also, they have a few others that would be a perfect fit for this site. I guess it does pay to shop around. View Attachment True, but sometimes you can still find a deal on Ebay, it just takes a long time now
