What did the paint do ? I have on occasion used Krylon, although usually as a base coat and haven't had any problems.

Thanks for the compliments ! Actually, the color came out by accident. It was originally going to be gold , but for some reason the white undercoat gave it a butterscotch tone to it . I thought it fit the theme, so I kept it this color.

I use Krylon silver or Plastikote flat white as a base , for me ,I think it goes on better than spray primer. Usually I let the flats dry overnight, but the Krylon dries fast and you can usually go over it in about an hour.

He is known on this site as Pegleg Bob . If you join the site you'll have access to his address . I will say his decals are very good , I've used several and they were top notch. He also does custom decals.

Well thats different, thats for sure ! Is it possible that the blue part of the decal is faded? Other than that maybe the blue ink wasn't working too well when they printed it. Are you looking for a set? Theres a guy on the site that may have some repops made.

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing them. That Lemans remided me of the one I was drooling over when I was 15 years old. A navy guy had junked it because the cam had broken. the black interior was mint, and even though the gold paint was dead, it was rust free. Long story short, no matter what I tried the junkyard wouldn't sell it to me and it ened up in the crusher!

Does anyone know what happened to Customcruiseroy and Sooperdave ? Back in August Roy was looking for a Big Red Baron wheel assembly, I told him I had one and to send me his address and I'd ship it out to him, and then ,nothing. He disppeared from the site ! Now in December, Dave posted pics of a Valiant he ws working on. I asked if he had any parts he wasn't using, he said he wasn't using the wheels and would ship them out to me ,then nothing again ! It seems hes gone too. Am I cursed ? I dont live anywhere near the Bermuda Triangle .Has anyone heard from these guys ? ,

Here are some pics from my sons Pinewood derby race. He wanted a custom paint job this year since last year a scout who's dad owns a body shop had a pro paint job. The decals are from the parts box. He did very well , finishing second in his den (his best friend won) and in the "king of the hill " it came down to a tiebreaker ,again against his best friend. They actually had the same amount of wins and seconds, and they both had the same fastest time. It came down to a best of three race final, and my son ended up second overall. It was a great day, everyone was a good sport, whether hey won or lost. Incidentally, can anyone think of the kit where my son got the idea for the paint scheme ? How about which kits the decals came from ?

I found this old ad in an old Life magazine that I was about to put on Ebay. I never saw this before, and I plan on removing the ad and framing it in my model room. Nowadays you'd have to have all sorts of permission to show another companys product , but here is a Monogram "Big T" in a Pepsi ad !
