Ed "Newt" Newton ( For all, which do not know who Ed is: www.showrods.com/home_page_links/badnews.html ,see NEWT! (part 1+2) ) a great artist and i love his ideas and artworks. One of i always liked is "The Winewagon": I did not see ever a built model, so I decided to do this. ;D Since I did not find anywhere a suitable barrel for the cab , I decided to manufacture one. I began with this: A PVC connecting tube for water pipelines: I sanded and carved a little... Thus this became from it: And a polystyrene rear wall: Hope, you like it so far...

Wow! Great job of hacking!! I love that showrod!
I have a "Barrel-o-Monkeys" barrel on my shelf I was going to use for a similar project. You might consider that if this PVC thing doesn't work out. All of the "boards" are engraved, it's thin and lightweight. I had it on the back of a flatbed at one time (Lil Gasser), but it didn't suit me. I hope you have great success with this one! It will be a great one-off project!!
By the way, I'm quite sure I have some spare Beer Wagon barrels if you need some!! Let me know, I'd be glad to send them to you!

That picture you probably have of Newts guitar shaped car was his submission for the Monkeemobile. It got shot down by Barris in favor of the current car!

I wanted to use this seat. It was in the back hollow/uneven. I filled it with putty, in order to receive an even surface. That was an error. I laid the putty on too thickly. It dissolved it. Thus I decided for these single seats. They look also better! And fits perfectly into the cab First, I wanted use as donorkit the "TD Beerwagon" (chassis and bed), but nothing fit however at all for this concept . (Except the barrels naturally ). Thus I decided for the chassis of the "Boot Hill Express". Since the barrel cab sits more deeply than the barrels bed, I cut the front part off of the chassis and set him more deeply. Since it was also too short in the length, it had to be extended. The bed is from a polystyrene plate and has a recess for the engine.

First off: that rocks, and I will enjoy watching further progress!
Second: it may be a dumb question, but what did you use to get the polystyrene and the PVC to stick together? Is that super glue I am seeing; or did you have to use something like Weld-On #3, or ....?

That's Cool, you should show pics of it to Newt, he'll probably say COOL BEANS like he usually does when something is cool, nice guy,
I did that once, I built a replica of Jim Hines 49 merc and sent him pictures of it, I got a nice letter from him with a T shirt,
keep up the work, hell if you make a resin master from this, you could sell a load of them easily,
Beer wagon has to have some competition, Here Come's the "WINE WAGON"
take care George

Thank`s!
Ward: Since I made bad experience with superadhesive/ superglue, I avoid this to use. I use "Contacta Professional" a liquid glue for plastics, made by Revell and for this one, the "UHU- Plast" a special Polystyrol glue; this loosens the material on and welds the parts together. The superadhesive sticks only to the surfaces (my experience).

I decided with the choice of the power source of my Winewagon for the Boot Hill Express engine. Since I extended the chassis, also the drive shaft must be extended. Here is the original: I cut the thinner piece out and set a longer home-made in. Here is the new extended version: That is the top side of the bed with the barrel holding:
