Kool pics!
Did you know the 1st picture of the Curved Dash Olds is a copy of a model the owner built years ago? I met him at one of the Ed Roth Memorial car shows. He had the model on display also.

I did some more research through my Bio-Optic Organized Knowledge (BOOK) and found pictures of the Lavender Pearl and the Candy Apple. Wasn't it also painted green for the Ford Caravan?
Thanks, Marty

They call it the Kroozinationals. I have attended the past couple years, great little show. I plan on going this year again. Eileen Roth (Ed's widow) and his son usually are there selling kool Rat Fink stuff. It is amazing to watch the pinstripers in action!! The model car show is very weak, very few entries. The cars there are awesome. If I was pressed to complain, it is the number of "Tuners" is increasing every year. They put them in a separate area I think because the stereos are blasting so loud. Yeah, I'm gettin' old. www.kroozincalendar.com/ourshows.htmlMarty

Today I attended the Y-City Scale Modelers Contest and swap meet. I was set up as a vendor. I wanted to take a lot more pictures but I had to keep an eye on table at the same time so some of the pictures aren't my best, sorry. smg.photobucket.com/albums/v521/mrtc4w/YCSM%202008/Marty

Not old, "mature" is more like it. Nope, "mature" doesn't fit when you are playing with toy cars. OK, old it is.
In case some of you don't know, the lint roller is for cleaning the rear tires of the cars for better traction.

I have been buying models to have when I retire. I planned on spending a lot more time with my hobby. I had more then I will ever build even after retirement. I lost my job of 11 years and wiped out my savings keeping my house going. Now that I have to start over and retirement just went farther away, I know I will never be able to build even a fraction of them. I inventoried mine and started selling off what I know won't get built. The white boxes in the background of this picture is my unbuilt stash. Since then over 13 boxes have been sold. Yeah, I am still buying but not nearly like I used to. Marty

I used to live in Toledo - no problem. I moved out of town and used to stay at my Mom's for the weekend - no problem. Now my Mom lives with us - minor problem. I only live 2 hours away. I will probably go Saturday and not Sunday.

This is my idea of a Volks-Rod: www.walts.info/Page_1.htmI remember the magazine coverage of the Kent Fuller build up. I thought it was kool idea and an excellent alternative to a dune buggy. BTW - I am by no means a VW guy, I am a MoPar man! But I do like dune buggies. Marty

Kool Birthday present!!! I got my 1/18 Batmobile at TRU. I was in the HW die cast aisle and couldn't find it, An employee came down the aisle, she said they only get 4/shipment and they were out at that time. As I was walking out, there was a Batman movie display. Sitting on the end all by itself was this lonely HW 1/18 Batmobile. I felt sorry for it, so I bought it and brought it home. ;D Marty

Ok Marty... I'll give you $20.00 and pay the shipping . ..lol....BTW... I have the glass top for mine so I'm thinking there's supposed to be one (?) Starry Eyes $20.00!?!?! WOW!!!! AND I get to pay shipping?!? You are awesome! I wish I had more friends like you!! BTW - That is $3.00 more then I paid for it. ;D It was at an auction and one of my "friends" was there. He got there before me so I asked what he was bidding on. We compared lists and I did not bid on anything he was. He missed this model maybe because it was in a Lindberg Mercedes model kit box. When it came time for this one we were the only ones bidding on it! I bid first and he bid me up!! Marty

I recently aquired an MPC Dodge Thunder Charger partially built kit. It is missing a few pieces. I believe some of the parts can be substituted from a regular Charger kit, I hope. -center console and shifter -rear center console -windshield(would have to trim it) -hood(I hope) -rear tail light both chrome and red pieces Parts missing that are probably unique to this kit: -clear top hatch -headlights both chrome and clear(I have one of the chrome pieces) -center grille chrome piece. -rear wing -Lake pipes Does anyone resin cast the unique parts I am missing or am I going to have to searching? What is the best way to store the tires so they don't ruin any of the plastic parts? Thanks, Marty

no matter how many of these get built, NONE of them will ever look as good as the original drag-u-la. there is one around that is VERY similar to the original drag-u-la, and i think tim posted pics of it awhile back. it has a hilborn injected small block in it. it's the only one that i've ever seen that looks similar to the drag -u-la, and that looks right. there's just something about the original that no one has ever been able to duplicate. in my opinion, if it aint the origial drag-u-la, it just doesn't look right. Amen!! Marty
