I am interested in Alclad as well. I remember there was some other threads about it, but I was thinking of starting a new thread to ask some questions about it. I guess my biggest questions is ?What does Alclad cost ??, -and where do you get it ?? Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer this for me !! I am gonna have to get some of this stuff for sure ! -AL I just got some off Ebay, $13.00 delivered (three days!!!) cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260418805447

I was about to post this exact same question... Where does one get "Humbrol" enamels, AND is there a premium dry time before spraying the Alcad AND is the recomended 15 psi really the best? I know there was another thread on this a while back, but no matter what I search for here, I always get a 'no results' message. A good, step by step' for dummies would rock. I know when I'm a dummy, and this here would be a prime example!

As long as the center section is noteably darker than the surounds, it should be fine. Lookin' mighty fine to me!

Off to a great start! I killed the spider once myself, gave it a Slingshot dragster meets '32 Ford flavor... Such a great design with so many possibilities!

...the [glow=red,2,300]"Veloci-Tee"[/glow] with special thanks to JerryG. I like it. It has a classic sound, keeps a part of the original name (The whole name really, just out of order 'Ice-T' 'V elo ci-Tee"), starts with a 'V' and the car has a very 'V' look to it (Plus the E.T. conection!) and it can be spelled funny but still said correctly. A great name. Now to the recent upgrades... I added a set of pedals and a new shifter. I searched and searched and couldn't find a shifter I liked enough, so I made one. I've scrapped the "Ice-T" crude rear control arms for a nice set of wishbones. Cut in a driveshaft tunnel, and added a transmission mount. Still needing a set of shocks... Shaved the valve covers flat (filled the breather hole with plastic stock, it'll be sanded smooth too, plan is to paint them to match the body which... I'm thinking about going with a deep purple maybe. Or red, bright bright red... I hate picking colors. And here it is all in prime... That's [glow=red,2,300]"Veloci-Tee", [/glow]ask for it by name! Thoughts? Comments? All are welcome at the circus!

A great guy all around, I only wish I'd got a chance to meet him personally. I knew of him first when the VooDoo Spyder got ink, and it being mentioned then, that it was a full scale version of a custom model he'd made many years before. I arrived here well after he'd gotten sick and not all that long before he passed, so my contact was very limited, sadly. But he's an inspiration now, and will be to many others for years to come. The above posts speak volumes, as he's right there with other Hot Rod/Custom Legends! And he still hung out with us plastic bashers too. Godspeed Elden!

Wow, it buffed out nicely. Such a cool body style too, a far and away under appreciated version of the "Charger"!

Just a thought, you might want to cast several. I got a hunch there might be a few others that'd want one, or two. I could be wrong.

thanks; it was surpose to be like the laramie's ghost model, it's a old, very rare pyro model kit. i've only ever seen one picture of it. it's the closest i've got steve-o That's what it looked like the idea came from. A pretty fair knock off if you ask me, and at a fraction of the cost. I've seen pictures of the LSG built, and your version looks better!

That's a great combo... You could stretch te rear wheel opening towards to back some and get the rear wheel "centered" more I think though. A barrel sander on a mototool would do and not even mess up that purty paint job (other than the "M&H" sticker)... Just a thought.

In a word, yes. There is a wealth of 'history' here along with a vast variety of building styles to look over, learn new tricks and glean ideas from!

I'd call it, more like, "Inspired by", as it clearly is. But it's not near a copy of Dave's design...

Tried that very thing last night Al, while it didn't look 'bad', it didn't really add anything ether. So I left them off.

Did a little more body work, one more round of fill and sand here and there and it should be ready for paint. That is, as soon as I nail down a color. More on that later... I taped the old 'Ice T' body parts I'd cut away and put them in this shot... Not quite in place... Here it is, all by it's lonesome, added some front end detail and a steering link... Power comes in the form of a low rise duel quad big block Chevy... Here's an assortment of other views... One thought I had on color/name would be paint it very red and call it, "Eyesmelt"... I'm kind of liking the idea of getting the name from some sort of twist on the 'Ice T' origins... Another name idea I had was 'Hot Toddy", kind of an opposite of "Ice Tea"... Still not sure and it's getting close to being ready for paint! Thoughts? Comments?

That's just insane!!! Looked like you were pretty much screwed if you drew lane 3! Every race that was shown, lane 3 got spanked from the get go. Still, very cool to see 4 heads up like that, even the burnouts were cooler!
