You, I'd read that paragraph once and I guess my ADD kicked in because I sure didn't notice that... Thanks A.J.!

Clarification question please. Is this strictly limited to the sacred 275 as a solid 'basis', or is it open to generally accepted 'Showrod' style/era kits? Say, Weirdos, Rat Finks, Mouse, Deals Wheels, Zingers etc.?

There's a flat spot on the hood that is just killing the lines of this otherwise smokin' cool concept... It's a "Bug", it has to have curves to look proper! Here's what I mean... No offence intended, just trying to help.

Crazy, out of this world impossible request here, but, might anyone have a serious gluebomb Deal Wheels (or Funster) funny car, or the following scraps from one... Body (Chevelle or Mustang, matters not) Frame, rear end Block, heads, blower case (Don't need/want scoop or headers) Or ANY of the above listed parts? Reasonable or even cheap?
Orrrr, would anyone know if one of these may be an upcoming reissue?

Love these, I've got a nice 1/8th stockpile waiting for the eyes to go kaput, including the motorized version of the Lindy dragster! Super clean build up there, makes me want to break one of them out.

Don't worry, but I guess a few that were willing to dumpster dive can be disappointed, it's going to be finished for sure and I've always got a trick or two up my sleeve...

This was brought up a while back and I mentioned it then, but lacked an example. Well I got one now! This is basically waterbed patch cement, available at your local waterbed store (check the yellow pages) and cost a whopping buck fifty. It truly bonds the vinyl and is flexible too. The only caution I'll give is, it dries lightning fast (Even under water!) so you'll have to work quick when sticking the tires together. You'll have a workable bond in about 30 minutes, just try to get a good surface to surface mate as it doesn't fill worth a hoot. I glued up the finished version, then hit it with a coarse file the even the surface followed by a less coarse sandpaper to even it out nicely, and in well under an hour start to finish! I used it to glue up the gumbos on the Stogie too.

[ It's a secret entry. LOL but thats OK. Now I know what I'm up against. Where did it say "secret"? I've seen this mentioned more than once. I went back and re-re-read Tim's post and no place did I see 'keep them under wraps' or anything... Besides, I can't help myself, I'm a natural born show off! EDIT: Well I went back through and there it was, on page three, about mid way, sure enough, keep it secret. Crap, guess I'll just toss this in the trash and start over...

Strange world......I mocked up a Stoogie chassis with a Royal Rail body/crown!!! This looks like what was left! I was thinkin' about using the 'scraps' to do the same. Do you call it "Rollin' Throne"?

I started this AMT Showrod bash the same day Tim posted his contest idea, so I think it's a prime canidate for the April First 2010 "Fools with no Rules!" Extravaganza! I wanted something to practice 'woodgraining' on before trying anything on the "Cord of Wood" and a Li'lStogie seemed like a prefect choice, what with all the wood and all you know, but with sooo many "Li'l Stogies" out there, well, one more just wouldn't do. I also had a Royal Rail begging to get out of the box, but I couldn't get into the odd-ball crown design, but the crazy fat tired quadracyclething was too cool not to try something on ether. So, anyway, I thought, why not bash them? The way things laid out, there really wasn't room for a V-8, so I got to thinking about what would fit, that I had handy... An AMT Corvair kit I had stuffed away gave up a nice pancake 6, some parts from a dead Sandshark gave it some Showrod "Umff!" and so, it'll be packin' a Six Shooter! Front wheels are from a pair of Jesse James, not quite a dollar choppers from Wally world, but they look so perfect up front! Lots of paintin' to do along with some details and whatnot, but for the most part, what you see is what we'll get. Unless something crazy happens...

Okay guys and gals, I'll start the 'Projects in Progress' part of this li'l ol' contest right here and now! By an odd coincidence, after several months of random thought, I started piecing this together the very same day Tim posted his idea, so it's a perfect candidate I think! There are more, better shots in the regular "Projects in Progress" section...

Have to see it next to something else to know the scale... Looks like there's a Mad Maxifed Firebird in there someplace too. How about a few more pictures, please? I think it's pretty cool looking, and a great build up, of course!
