There may have been a resin kit, but never in plastic. The car was just an old Crown Vic with some gaudy additions ,but I dont think they even made a police cruiser Crown Vic from that era that could be modified.

Another fine build Paul, and I know that chassis can be a real pain to get together right !

After many years I finally collected all the Deals Kits. Some were glue bombs that I restored, Some were lucky Ebay wins and others were done by trading (thanks Chuck !) I never went crazy on high bidding ,but it did take years t to finally complete my set. In all honesty, I'll bet I never spent more than $50.00 for any of them, so it can be done cheaply. $1900.00 is way out of my price range, but hey, I'm half Scottish ! -Bottom line , If you have that kind of cash to spend on plastic, and you want nearly all of them at one time (no Super Spurt) Its a fair price.

Nice score on the Humbug , those exhuast pipes have to be the hardest bits to find on these kits. Chuck probably has all the parts you need cast in resin ,if you need them to restore it !

The only real difference between the Lil Herbie and the Funster bug are the Lil Herbie license plate ,the wheels and the tires. Unfortunately, those were only available on the Lil Herbie, but you could make a close clone with the Funster. The Bug Bomb would take a little more work; The Bomb has no bumpers, so they would need to be scratch built, the sunroof would need to be cut out , the back window would need to me made into a one piece glass, and the tach removed from the hood. Given the fact that the plastic on these is as thin as an eggshell, they can and do break very easily,so modifications are going to be tricky. I had a bunch of repop decals made for the Herbie ,I sold most of them but I may have a few left if you come across on of these kits. I got mine a few years back on Ebay in a junk lot. I didn't even know what it was and got it for a ridiculously low bid .It was really rough, but complete. Sometimes you just get lucky ! Here are some pictures of the one I restored. The rear pipe was not part of the kit, but I put it on anyway as there was a place for it in the back.

Well I'll have to say mine was the worst Christmas I've ever had ! First, I take a week Vacation this Christmas as my sister was coming up from S.C. , so she, my father and my family could have a Christmas together .My dad is 90 and he was looking forward to the whole thing. Sounds good right ? Ok, so on 9/23 I'm cleaning my sons room when all of a sudden I get a wrenching pain in my side. It goes away after about an hour so I forget about it. Christmas eve all seems to be ok too, until about 5 pm, when I'm hit with the same pain that wont go away .I'm literally doubled up with pain , So I end up in the hospital which they diagnose as a kidney stone that is stuck, and they want to flush it out. So there I stay until Friday afternoon, when it passes. This is also the Friday morning that my sister flew home . I"m sure some of you guys may have had these before, but man, I have never been in so much pain in my life ! ,Luckily they were able to drug me up during the bad parts. My Christmas dinner at the hospital was clear broth, water and a flavorless sugar free jello . Needless to say, I'm looking forward to 2013 !! Well, rattle cans are my only option, and I've used this paint many times and have had no problems either. I have used Plasti-Kote flat white, silver or gold as a base coat and let it sit for a day before I spray it. Them I hit it with several light coats ,allowing each to dry before I give it a good cover. After letting it sit a day or so I hit it with a clear coat . I've had no problems with bubbles, runs or splotchy paint, so it may be a humidity thing or maybe just old paint. Of course it will never be as deep as automotive paint airbrushing , but I've been happy with my results.

I was searching for pictures online and I did find a picture of Dean with Davy next to the Manta Ray so he was probably hanging around during that episode too. One thing I noticed while rewatching the beginning of the show on Youtube is that it looks like there are signatures on the dragchute-or are my eyes playing tricks on me again ?

My kids were watching an old episode of the Monkees Sunday night. It caught my eye because the show opened with the group "working" on the Monkeemobile , and later they ended up at Davys family friend who was racing .The race car was the Manta ray ,and the bad guys had a Cobra coupe . A lot of silliness and no racing pics, but some good close ups of the Manta ray . I dont know how I missed this episode as a kid ;my sister was in love with Davey and we had to watch it every Saturday morning.

Sometimes you can get the fog out of the glass by using some very fine sandpaper .I have used some wet wet/dry paper to remove the damage and the polish the heck out of the glass. Its not 100% that it will work for you, but I've had really good results most of the time, and since the glass is no good right now so you have nothing to lose !
