There were two different versions of this and several of the cars in this series. I think they didnt have them in the original issues , and when the next series of cars came out they retooled the old series to have those side wings . I looked for a decal set for this that you could scan, but this is one set I'm missing as well.

I thought about picking it up for myself , but I have way too many kits waiting for a rebuild now.

Built kit, not too bad , don't know if the color is rare, but I've never seen one . Not mine and still going pretty cheap.

I agree Rob. It does seem childish to me as well, unless you're trying to sound like a caveman or something . Thats just my opinion !

Sorry to hear about that , Tye, I wish I could help you out. . I had a similar, but smaller problem like that.I made a trade with someone from "Downunder" about four years ago, and it disappeared as well. He was a trustworthy guy so I know it was no fault of his, but its very disappointing. If you guys ever see a Johan Hornet funny car model with an old post date -its mine !

You could try just plastic polish first, but I know the fumes sometimes really attack the plastic, so you may want to try some really fine wet/dry sandpaper, and then polish the heck out of the area . I've dome this with some glue marks on clear plastic with good results ,but it takes some time polishing

Still looking for pics of my first car, but heres a picture of my fourth car , which I bought after my 72 Duster was totalled by a drunk driver. I bought it in 1979 when I was 18, and still have it today .

Looking good ! That primer one is screaming for a 50's vintage decal on the side cowl, maybe a skull or an old oil company logo !

Chuck, you are on the ball as always ! 13" tires are the ones what I'm looking for . I thought they had to be 14"s since all the 1:1 A body Mopars I owned had them , but I forgot the early ones were smaller.

Still looking for a set of white wall tires for the 1962 Valiant I'm restoring. This has the smaller tires, the same ones that came with the Corvair , Falcon and Comet. Modelhaus has some resin ones with the hubs molded in, but I'd like to keep this kit all original if I can. Does anyone have a set of these tires on a junker they dont need anymore ? Will buy or trade

My first car was a 1967 Falcon Futura 4 door ,white with a light blue gut, 6 cyl. I got it for free for helping a neighbor put his stuff in a moving van . He couldn't take the two cars he had so he told me to pick one. , a 65 Belvedere sedan or the Ford. Since these were both New England cars they were pretty rusty ;the Falcon was only ten years old and it was full of holes. I had it for a year or so, and bought a 74 Gremlin which lasted 6 months when it got hit in the rear by a 69 Polara.

It looks better everytime you post new pics ! I have a suggestion with the headlights. Instead of putting them in the hood, how about putting them vertically in the front fenders like the 1965 Riviera ?

I got one pic, the roadsters ae definetely Lindberg kits . They came with different options so you could build it different ways. They used that kit for years , with all different names. I had one that was called the Time Bomb; here is one I built called the Mind Blower, the box was dated 1970.

Cool idea, but you wouldn't want to call it a Coyote , in the comics he's a scraggly looking loser that never wins -now , a Super Bee with the Superbird treatment ? I'd call it a Killer Bee !

Man , that has a little bit bigger tires than the last one of these I had ! LOL . This was the second of mine ,the first ,a 78 Volare was the exact trim and color as this 79 Aspen that I bought sight unseen - Who would have thought they would have been twins ? And you're right, you should have finished it !!!!!

Heres mine , built waaaay before the reissues and was a major Ebay gluebomb. Lots of filling and repairing, plus trading the guys here for some (at the time) rare parts . It took me over a year to get this thing together , but I did manage to get it finished in time for the 2004 Tom Daniels contest . With all the reissues, its now hard to believe that this was such a grail kit for so many people !

Man ,anyone that can have the patience to build one of these deserves a big congrats ! Many times while building this style of kits I wanted to chuck it against a wall ,and when I was theres no way I would have had the patience to finish one , let alone having it come out looking that good when I was 10!

Well , being half Scottish , I have no choice to be cheap , so the kits I get are nearly always in the $20.00 range. The most I paid for a grail was around $50.00 .

For the frame and fender trim , I used one of those Testors paint markers for the red on my old DW restoration , It worked really will for me , and the red is the same color as their bottle stuff which I used for the cage. Everything else on the cage was done with a fine brush.

I agree - it looks so much better in a bright color, it really changes the look of the kit !
