Uhh... LOL.. Have you seen our contest? Jump in. Be the light that shines and part of the solution. I will always love building models with my hands. That will never change. Plus old kits have soul. You can't print that... yet. LOL. Maybe in the future our crude attempts and pioneering parts will be cherished like a TD kit with damaged molds.

Thaat's where those wheels came from... I have a set from an old parts stash I was gifted.. Wonder if they came in anything else? Very cool kit. The body is low-slung with the wheel openings and chopped top... I like it.

PS: What a CRAZY kit to start a build with! AWESOME!! Can you fit a couple of Hemis in there, you think? I'm betting on the engine/prop from the Der Baron's Fundekker Fokker. I already mocked it up in tape with a blown Hemi... It's crazy.

This was it for me... my grandparents bought it for my birthday party, as they knew 57 Chevys were my favorite car. I had to have been 8 or so.. it was a glue kit and my mom was concerned because it said for 10 and up and I remember not being "old enough"... but man I tore into that thing and mag wheels! and dual quads! and bucket seats! and headers! and a roll bar!.... man I was hooked. I had that thing built by the end of the evening, glue smeared everywhere... I used waaay too much and it was a mess. I got the baby blue '55 snap together next, but it just wasn't nearly as "cool" as the '57. At one point I had 100 models assembled at one time, not counting the boxes of junkyard stuff... I can tell the manufacture of a part by looking at the plastic. LOL.. and I can usually tell you what kit a part is from... But this '57 holds a soft spot in my heart. I've bought another as an adult, but didn't build it right. I need to try again.

If you just need the hood top, and not the sides, I have one that has decals on it and wasn't painted. It was a box stock build. If that's what you need, PM me your address and I'll put it in the mail...

Scott Colmer is a master fabricator when it comes to scratch building.. he makes throttle linkages and stuff. I don't build stuff entirely from scratch, but I do enjoy the carving and filing of plastic to make what I want. Most of my stuff is in the body construction...

Okay. Another Ol' Fart is ready to play. Do I need to add more suggested names for the list? Dave McGowan is back in the haaaaaa-ouse! Awesome... Any of you old timer lurkers like Dave who's login stuff got botched on a board upgrade or something in the past, make a new profile and jump back in... or tell somebody who suffered the same fate. The board software did some stuff a while back and I think it messed a few people up. Welcome back, homey. I can't wait to see what you build...

I. am. ready. I've held off on any other building until we get our names. I might finish up the gasser Gremlin.. it's close, but I'm not working on any showrods until we start. I feel like a penned up dog.

The RoAcH CoAcH is alive and well and it's currently owned by Don "The Egyptian" Boeke and is kept at his shop in Dayton, Ohio... Do we have anyone local that maybe could go by there or could you contact him and see if he could take some reference photos? I would imaging he would be stoked to learn somebody is trying to digitize that thing... be great to have dead-on front side and rear shots. It could even be done with a phone.

Nice bug, 3D... very nice. I'm also a VW head.. though none of my current ones are that nice. I have two beetles and a rail buggy... all projects in various states of completion, but I grew up in VWs and have had a ton of them. Nice job on the model, Pat!

That IS cool. I like the surfboard tray.
Now that I know it was supposed to be a sand dragster, I want to make a sand shark with the paddle tires.. LOL.

I am going to pin this to the top so we can keep up with it. I must say I have been chomping at the bit to get started on this... I have some potential base kits I hope a name is fitting for. I'm ready. I plan on using both names I get and building two- one I will share the progress and one that will be a surprise... just for kicks. If you haven't had a chance to join, PM Kabdriver your two names and get on board... If anyone gets a name that doesnt' spark anything, post it and let's brain storm or I will even trade one of mine. That offer is only open for a few days after the drawing. I will build a car for any name, cause I ain't skeert...

Do not worry about it one bit. Being a supercharged Hemi kind of guy, there is no way I'd use that wimpy little engine in a million years. LOL. I am happy to see it go to a good home.
It's in good shape - you will dig it...
