I know a guy that had a decent builder, I tried to get it from him but he only wants to trade it for a Deal's kit he didn't have .At that time he was looking for a Swine hunt , McLapper , or the Ford and Chevy funny cars. He may still have it .

Been there, done that ! These kits are a bit of a chore to be sure, and definetely not a kit that can be built in an afternoon . (probably why no kid built ones survived ) The lousy front end assembly has given me fits on each one of these kits I've built. Yours is looking great, I really like that green ! P.S. the decals are junk in these reissues , they just fall apart in the water .

I like the cat guy, I think it will add a nice touch to the build. I'm looking forward to seeing this one built. By the way, if you decide you dont want to use the smaller headlight buckets , I have a Humbug here that could really use them !

Nothing fancy here, as I'm going for a stock looking Deal's Wheels "never was" build, but heres a painted mock up pic. Still a long way to go, more wetsanding, etc. Why yellow metalflake ? because its one of the few colors that a Deal's car wasn't available in.

I read that guys ad before when I was looking for some side pipes. One of his ads basically said " if you think my prices are too high, go elsewhere" . I took his advice and found a pile of them for much less than he was asking for a pair !

As for building ,I agree on the old Revell kits , As a 11 year old kid I know I made a horrible mess of a Moon Mixer , and later on the Chopped Duece and the 56 Chevy did me in. Looking at your post ,were you asking about the worst kit to build, or the worst one you had that you restored. The worst kits I restored was a Dragon Wagon and a Tijuana Taxi ; it took me forever to rebuild. A close second would have been the Bug Bomb and Glitterbug .All four were broken up gluebombs.

If I had only known, I wouldn't have spent two years searching and begging for parts to restore my gluebomb DW .I cant tell you how many hours I had into that build . It is hard to believe that Beer wagons are selling for that much.

Nice looking build, Gerry ! Heres my build of the plastic Polar lights comic book version . I went with a dark purple because thats the color it looked like to me in the comics when I was a kid.

Somebody missed the boat on this series . With the popularity of the movies ,you'd think they would have jumped at the chance for a tie- in to the films. Maybe the molds were lost ? I built (or tried to build) one of these back in the day. It wasn't a kit for clumsy fingers !

Not screwing the poor, I'd pay what its worth plus shipping , but I feel charging 35 pounds shipping for a 5 pound model is a little excessive. If I could afford the $40.00 shipping charge I suppose I would pay it, but I'm on a limited budget myself. I do donate to Goodwill quite often , beleive it or not I dropped off two bags of shoes to our local store on Saturday afternoon.

I'm sure that will go for some green ! I've never purchased from Goodwill online ,but I checked them out. They have a large scale 32 Monogram Ford kit, but they have it listed as weighing 35 pounds - that really bumps up the shipping charge !

I always though it was more "orange" , but maybe thats from looking at all the model boxes over the years !

You're probably right, looking at some old pics of the Gomad I restored, it was pretty much a glue bomb .That ,and the fact that it was listed as a "cartoon car" is likely the reason I got it cheap. Scott, I have a couple of upcoming shows to go to, if one pops up at a reasonable price I'll pick it up for you.

That had me wondering about the '66 too. I thought everyone knew the whole Lincoln Futura story. Of course, the newer Batmobile (AND THE MOVIE) has the biggest mistake - Batman never uses guns !! Both his parents were shot to death in front of him when he was a boy, and when he became Batman he used his strength and wits to beat the bad guys......hmmm , do I sound like I was on the Big Bang Theory ? ;D
BTW- How come nobody had commented on the best part- The host in a bikini !

SWEEEEET ! That is sure to stand out at the derby. Let us know how your son makes out . My son and I went to the regionals Saturday. Finished second twice in the first round and got eliminated, but we had a good time. Being St Patricks day, his green car got a lot of nice comments , and a couple of older scouts told him his car looked "cool" -that made his day! !
