Very cool !! The Hi-C ad brought back memories for me , My mom sent away for my first Hotwheel from them . It must have been 1968 ,because I know there were different cars offered. I picked a Deora , which I still have .Even though its beat and a wheel broke off, I wouldn't part with it .

You keep models at your parents house ?? Dont you remember ,built kits at parents houses almost always get thrown away . We've all heard the horror stories ,beware !! LOL ;D
Seriously , thats a great looking display, I like the color on the Big T .

If I was a collector of rare kits, and the kit was so rare that it would never be reissued, I wouldn't want it signed either way. Any marking up of a kit can bring value down ,even it was an autograph . If I was a fan of the person signing it and that meant more to me than the kit, I would remove one end of the cellophane, try to remove the kit , have him sign the box and then put the kit back in the cello to protect it (if possible) . If it were me, it would boil down to whether I planned on building the kit, since I'd be ripping the cello off anyway.

I used to sell items with an " buyer to pay actual shipping costs" clause , which I could figue out after the auction when I got his address .I had no complaints or problems. Now Ebay makes you put a shipping charge in even though you dont know where its going, so I put an average price in the sale .

It is a wallpaper brush, Apparently his father or a relative was a paperhanger named Shicklegruber , and somehow this was used as propaganda by the allies by saying that Hitler had been one and Shicklegruber was his real name .My mother was Scottish and 13 when the war started ; she later joined the RAF. She heard all the jokes and things that were said about him to help boost morale.
Once again, you've done a great job building these, Luca !

Someone here on this site did a really cool outlaw sprint caricature car , but thats the only one I've seen. The circle track cars probably get no love because they get clobbered and are supposed to, where the drag guys usually have perfect paint jobs and straight looking body panels . I grew up near a circle track as a kid, and I used to love seeing the cars after the races on the trailers. being beat up just gave them more character to me, its was the colors and all the hand painted numbers and lettering that I liked. Plus they were nearly all 55 - 57 Chevies !

I just picked up another of Tom Daniel's snap funny car kits ( RRRipoff Plymouth Duster) and I noticed that it did't have the holes for the rear 1/4 spoilers on it . Were there two series of these kits ? I have an orange and lime Duster that has the spoilers ,and the yellow one doesn't, plus the decals look a little different.

Well Ira, if Carroll wasn't holding the shifter with his right hand, he could have been holding the hat out of the window kinds like a bronco rider- I'm sure you'll have that little ford popping a wheelie !

You know I wanted a Demon when I was a kid, and this is the closest I ever got to one. Actually, I bought this when it was five years old, its hard to believe the car will be 40 years old next year !

Well now I dont feel bad at all for buying that original Big Red Baron for $15.00 at a model show last year -sure, the box was beat ,and the decals shot, but I had some repops made and the kit is complete for waaaaay less than what that one sold for.
