Here's just one more picture, taken at the Seattle IPMS show in April (didn't win anything). You can see I reworked the skeletal fish's mounting just a tad.

I recently pulled a Godzilla's Go-Cart down off the shelf and decided to build it. But as I looked at it, the stock Briggs & Stratton seemed a little underpowered; surely the King of the Monsters deserves more horsepower! So I bought a Revell Wright Cyclone and grafted that on. Here are a few pictures: The Wright choice: The start of the engine mount: I filled in the backs of the wheels: And cast some transparent copies of his dorsal fins so i could light 'em up. I also replaced his eyeballs with acrylic spheres for lighting. And here are some pictures of the final result: This was an idea I had along the way: A turtle shell from a third-rate Japanese kit, some putty work, and you could have a Gamera's Go-Cart! I'm just putting the idea out there, in case any of you want to pick up on it. If I were to do it again, I'd cut Godzilla's neck and raise his head a bit; I think the pose would be better that way.

What's with the little wings sticking out above the rear tires? They don't seem to have been there on the original issues.

I got one of these for Christmas and was going to build it, but now I think I'll just slowly put the box back on the shelf...

I like the idea of painting the wood framing black. I'd never have thought of that.

A couple triangles cut from yellow decal sheet would be a quick way to add eyes.

A Monogram L'IL Coffin. From ebay here in the UK for £10 as it is already used/started etc, as you can see it's in bits. The owner painted most things gold and tried to stick the chrome parts on top of the paint, but also without removing the chrome plating. I'm stripping the paint from the back axle/driveshaft and the engine block as most of the chrome parts began to fall off once I handled them. The hinges on both the doors and body are broken in one way or another and I will try to replace them. Great score Pat ! Not only a cool Show Rod but it has the very best wheels and tires ever in a kit ! (My opinion) The Coffin's wheels are a nice design, but unfortunately there are very visible ejector pin marks on the rims of the front wheels. Fixing them means sacrificing the chrome plating.

Or something really strange: An inline 9, perhaps, or a V-7.

Our basement drains are finally sorted and the hobby room is back together, so I've been able to work on the Shark again. I got the body cleanup done and painted it with Tamiya Metallic Blue spray. I was thinking about painting the underside with silver but decided that would look bad, so blue overall it is. The teeth and eyes were done with oils, so there'll be a bit of a wait for them to dry: The rear axle on the original kit had no differential at all, so I substituted one from a caricature Willys kit. Wheels and tires are from a Deal's Wheels Baja Humbug I bought for another project: And here is the engine, which represents I-don't-know-what. I enlarged the pre-existing holes in the distributor and head and used silicone-jacketed electrical wire. I stripped the original tired chrome and used Spazz-stix chrome, which I'm pretty happy with.
