Wow Bobby! Great graphics and paint job! Especially the helmet. You did a bang up job on the Digger! Why didn't you pain the body to match the helmet? ? That would make it WICKED!!!

Does Dave have an email address? I tried the contact button on his website and my email did not go through.

I basically use it for seams and holes to get a smooth finish before I prime. I have never had any problems with bleed through using the Squadron Green Putty. And yeah, the stuff does shrink and I'm tired of having to sand and refill 2 or 3 times on something that should have been done in one coat. I'm going to try some of the Chuckster's 3M and see how I like it. Like you said, if Chuck said it's good, who am I to doubt his word!

Okay, so I've been using Squadron Green Putty for years. As a matter of fact, my half-empty tube has been around longer than I've had hair on my chestnuts, but it's just not doing it for me anymore. What's the BEST plastic putty out there now? And, why is it the best?

Hey Tres,
It turned out even better than you described! Great idea to do something different with a plain little kit! I think you were correct in blacking the accessories. It makes the Herbie body and decals pop! Can't wait for the next one.

John, I have admired your work for several weeks and I have to say your builds are nothing short of spectacular. If it were not for knowing they are models, I would swear they could pass for the real deal! The quality of workmanship and attentions to detail boggle my mind. You sir, are a true artist and a very, very talented builder. I cannot wait to see more of your awesome builds. I'm posting on this thread because it is at the top of the list, but it applies to every model I have seen you post. Great work!

Thanks guys. It was a fun build. The decals kind of dictated the color choice for me, I did use a ton of BMF. LOL My eyes are so bad I have to have a lot of light to do the trimming, but the foil was so reflective I could hardly see where to cut sometimes. The sleeper and air foil were simple add ons. The base was just scrap plastic I cut slots in and painted. Overal on the fun meter I'd give this one an 8. There are more in the works..................................... ??

I have always thought the Tom Daniel Hemi Semi was too plain and needed an upgrade. I bought the kit years ago. Once in a while I would look at it and wonder what I could do to make it better. Cutting, piecing, chopping, and adding, I did this in a couple of weekends. I added MV lenses to the front and rear, a sleeper, rearview mirrors, Bare Metal Ultra Bright Foil, paint, Skull Gear decals, and a highway base and called it quits After shaking the box, out it came! Hope you enjoy it as mush as I did building it. ;D

Hey Tres, that's a pretty boss build there! I like the color combination too. It pops! I'll bet the pearl blue sparkles like diamonds in the sun. What's a few extra bucks when you're passionate about a model's appearance? If we only built models based on cost, they would all be stock, out of the box, and unpainted! If you don't build with passion, you will never enjoy the finished kit. There wouldn't be much reason to do it if they all looked alike, so you make it yours when you do it your way.

Hey Tres,
Thanks for the update on Michael. I had emailed him a week or two ago and never got a reply. Guess that's why. I wish him a speedy recovery....and his build ups are fantastic. I think he is a verifiable DW guy! Keep us posted on his recovery.

Another masterpiece to grace the pages of the Coffin Corner! Great build Tres!! From the way you described it, I half expected a glue bomb, but I see you let your patience get the best of you and you got a great build out of it. Can't wait to see the Little Red Wagon!

It's al in the details John and you obviously knew which ones. Great build. If it tells a story without a diorama, it says alot.
